Way too many inexperienced people in the music industry want to be the head coach before they’ve ever been on the field.
Name me one professional sports head coach who never played the game and/or never worked their way up through the coaching system.
I’ll wait…
Just watched a producer cross the $3 Million mark from publishing.
No billboard Hot 100’s, no RIAA Plaques, no crazy “co-pub” deal.
How? Well, he owns 100% of his work via an admin deal, and also has 100% composition ownership since he uploads instrumentals to DSP’s.
The major music industry doesn’t care because it doesn’t feed their business model.
But it does feed him and his family ❤️
So my question is; are you seeking recognition and approval from your peers, or do you wanna build a long term career that can feed generations to come?

I thought I was done when the season ended. I wasn't ready to announce it, and I knew I needed some time to really decide, but I was pretty sure I played my last game. I was honest at that last press conference when I said I needed to look at myself and deicide if I still love
My pepper in my garden is turning into @FL_Studio 🫑
1. Buy a laptop.
2. Get a DAW and/or hardware.
3. Make beats.
4. Create licenses that keep your publishing ownership & master percentage.
5. Sell your beats on BeatStars.
6. Release instrumental projects on DSPs.
7. Send packs out.
8. Work with artists in person.
9. Artists release songs.
10. Register your publishing.
11. Unlock sync opportunities.
12. Collect your master royalties & neighboring rights royalties.
14. Build a catalog that pays you for decades.
15. Work smarter, not harder.
Waiting for a label to “find you” reminds me of 12-year-old me shooting hoops in my driveway, convinced an NBA scout was going to drive by and offer me a contract.

Music isn't a career you can sustain at a high level alone. The business side has too many specialized roles. You need a team.
Everyone posting that their music has been stolen by ai companies…
