Just thinking out loud, if @Skittles sponsored @MercedesAMGF1 or @LewisHamilton, rainbows on any kit would just be reflecting that sponsorship … #Formula1 #FIA #LGBTQIA

And if you create a workplace where no one feels they can say anything negative, even in private channels, well that is the sort of toxicity that will certainly deter good people from wanting to work for you or at a place. And maybe that’s the point. – at Seattle, WA

I mean team meetings were kind of the whole point behind that Roman Senate thing. You could have picked so many other empires but you had to choose one of the few that actually had team meetings. Amazing.

This is vile. If my employer tracked my work in this fashion, I would quit immediately. If my employers had done this to me when I was young, I would never have accomplished what I did. nytimes.com/interactive/2022…

If you are wearing a mask in indoor public settings, I cannot thank you enough. The reason we aren't in even worse shape is because of you. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Stay strong, be a role model. Let's keep wearing high-quality masks indoors to protect each other. 😷

I've been a climate activist for decades because it's the greatest threat to our planet. So why am I so focused on COVID? Climate change is a catastrophe for human health. To avoid its worst effects, we need a strong public health infrastructure. Sadly, we are failing badly.

Apollo's engineers spent $400k/kg sent to the Moon (adjusted). And yet, they considered modularization important enough to pay for the cost of its packaging and interfacing overheads. There's really no excuse to skimp on it in software designs. Images: righto.com/2022/07/reverse-e…

Junior developers love magic. Seniors hate magic. And the reason seniors hate magic is that they know, from experience, that magic (things they don't understand) eventually bite in the ass.

We got tricked by science fiction into thinking a futuristic city is all about flying cars and crystal towers and hologram billboards but what it really looks like is nice apartment blocks, good mass transit, pedestrian zones with shade trees and safe bike lanes.

This strikes me as the same tradeoff teams face. A) maximize this season’s features or b) deliberately accept fewer features now for more features next season?

“There is a teaching that says that behind all hardening and tightening and rigidity of the heart, there’s always fear. But if you touch fear, behind fear there is a soft spot. And if you touch that soft spot, you find the vast blue sky.” - @AniPemaChodron

Unacceptable that the CDC recommendations continue to be under par as we experience another variant surge. - No mask recommendation - No reporting of home tests - No crowding/ventilation guidelines - Inadequate isolation guidelines - Still using a deceptive COVID map Do better!
Replying to @CDCDirector
We know how to protect against #COVID19 variants. ➡️Stay up to date on vaccines ➡️Stay home if sick ➡️ Ask if you are eligible for antivirals if infected ➡️Know your community level & precautions needed Find your community level: bit.ly/3MpA6Sr

It's good the administration acknowledges BA.5, but this falls far short of what is required. We need the WH to push for meaningful policies like mask mandates and worker safety standards, not just issue PR statements so they can say "oh well, we tried!" whitehouse.gov/briefing-room…

It's great the White House includes high-quality masks in their strategy, but the execution has been poor. Masks have been dumped in drug stores, which are unsafe as they don't mandate mask wearing. Why aren't high-quality masks being sent direct to homes?
