That was even more amazing than I imagined! Proud to be part of the team that made it possible ☄️🎯
Bullseye 🎯 Mission control at #JHUAPL announced #DARTMission successfully impacted its asteroid target on Monday, 26 Sep 2022 at 7:14 p.m. EDT. This is @NASA's first attempt to move an asteroid in space. @NASASolarSystem @AsteroidWatch

Starry-eyed ✨👁 @NASA’s #DARTMission - #JHUAPL designed, built & managed - opened the door to its DRACO camera & returned its first star-filled images. These pics will help researchers calibrate for DART's ultimate asteroid impact goal. jhuapl.link/luh @AsteroidWatch

The Parker Solar Probe heat shield is pretty amazing, we did this fantastic demo at the @WorldSciFest a couple years ago (around 27:30 in the video) where the awesome @bcong20 got the blowtorch out for our live audience! youtube.com/watch?v=w18y4iQt…
Super cool to see a @PHDcomics about Parker! So proud to be a part of the spacecraft team!
In April, @NASASun's Parker Solar Probe got closer to the Sun than any human-made probe before it, crossing a key boundary in the corona called the Alfvén Point. We asked Jorge Cham of @PHDcomics to create a cartoon breaking down what it took to get there. physics.aps.org/articles/v14…

🔥 Hot off the press! 🔥 We’ve touched the Sun! 👉☀️ Parker Solar Probe has now flown through the Sun’s upper atmosphere, the corona. Flying so close is revealing new things about our star, like where features called switchbacks are born. Learn more: go.nasa.gov/3oU7Vlj

Look it's Lisa! And her shipping container which protected DART as we drove it across the country! @JHUAPL #DARTMission
“Our team had to adapt because working under the constraints of a pandemic while trying to build something in person is kind of hard. But the team worked together virtually, adapted with the times, and made a spacecraft!” - Lisa Wu, #DARTMission Mechanical Engineer, @JHUAPL

Ready for launch 🚀 The #DARTMission will demonstrate one method for deflecting an asteroid off a predicted impact course with Earth if one comes our way. Watch the historic launch 1:21am EST Wed, 24 Nov. If you're in the area, you could see DART depart! @AsteroidWatch

Having a great time @SLDelta30 today getting ready for the #DARTmission launch tomorrow night. Briefings and reviews today went well. After years of work, we are just a day away from launching @NASA’s first Planetary Defense mission with @SpaceX. #JHUAPL

Excited to see the @SpaceX facility where the #DARTmission is being prepared for its journey to intentionally crash itself into an asteroid. Liftoff will be at Vandenberg Space Force Base (@SLDelta30) this Wednesday, Nov. 24th at 1:21 a.m. EST.

Bye DART Spacecraft! Can't wait for launch tomorrow!
🚀 @NASA & @SpaceX are completing key milestones for the #DARTmission! Last week, the DART spacecraft was encapsulated inside the payload fairings that will protect it during launch atop a #Falcon9 and teams completed a successful Flight Readiness Review: go.nasa.gov/3FEWPGk
If all goes well, the spacecraft that NASA plans to launch Tuesday will smash itself to bits against an asteroid. If all goes absolutely perfectly, that impact will jostle the asteroid into a slightly different orbit. wapo.st/30IsUOL

Yes, @NASA scientists are protecting all of humanity by watching our skies. Soon we launch our #DART mission to run experiments on how to respond if Dr. Fast and her team spot something. ScFi, but for real! GO NASA!
What if an asteroid were going to hit Earth? There are no known threats but asteroid expert Dr. Kelly Fast of NASA’s Planetary Defense Coordination Office says it’s important to find the asteroids before they find us. So our eyes are always on the skies: nasa.gov/planetarydefense
