Yep standards are political cloak and dagger games. Typically consumers lose as best option hardly ever gets chosen or is actively removed from being the implicit but proven “standard” as some vendor consortium wants to turn market share their way.
The more you work with something marked "standard", the less you feel comfortable with people pushing hard only because of the word standard

Went to see @neilcowleymusic live at @Bimhuis last sunday, touring his new album Battery Life without having listened to the album before. Unprejudiced and without expectations I was immersed in his beautiful performance. Such a good way to start exploring!

Well balanced and realistic article by @Tetrateio's @ZackButcher on #AmbientMesh. Do also read the mentioned blog post by @mt165 around #eBPF for a good overview of what's happening in @IstioMesh land and what this means for you. Care about use case matching not marketing hype.
#Istio "ambient mesh" is an interesting take on #sidecar vs "sidecar-less" #servicemesh. We're excited to see how it develops, especially if it helps make mesh adoption easier. What do you think? 🤔 Read our take and let us know. tetr8.io/3f2oglf

Seriously amazing work and progress being done in Apache SkyWalking. Always with solving real user problems into holistic platform insights as guiding light. Give it a try!
#SkyWalking uses #ebpf agent doing @EnvoyProxy On-CPU #profiling on demand As a fundamental network component in @IstioMesh, ppl have doubts for its runtime performance from time to time. Now SkyWalking provides insights in the runtime #OpenSource #apm #observability
Last day at #KubeConEU coming up. I’m not packed with meetings anymore. If any of my friends out here I didn’t know to be here want to meet up (including strangers, as they are just unknown friends). I’ll be around the @Tetrateio booth in pavilion 2.

🎉 We're thrilled to announce #EnvoyGateway, a project that will decrease the barrier to entry to using the @EnvoyProxy for #API Gateway use cases! Read more about the project and why @Tetrateio, top contributor to Envoy, is behind it: tetr8.io/3sFiHNL #MakeITMesh

Kind of like a chef not tasting the food they create…
You are never too senior to write code. I only laugh at people who believe they are too good to write any code as a software engineer.

This is HUGE!
Our greatest release ever! - Generics - Fuzzing - Module workspaces - debug/buildinfo (SBOM) - net/netip - ARM64 & PPC64 regabi (+15% performance)
Mmm looks way too clean…
Repost if you know what this is :)

So much this. It often is not about smarts, but figuring out the gaps, read docs, posts, code and yes asking others! No shame in not knowing, it is simply infeasible to always do. The process helps others get better at discovery and you’ll end up learning from them!
I really love a. admitting that I didn't know something b. showing how I figured it out (by asking questions / reading docs etc) showing the whole process from "wait, how does X work??" to "ok, got it!" is so valuable

Worked with @MGallagher2010 when looking for Go engineers at my previous company and can subscribe from the other side too.
I know many of us don’t like recruiters but @MGallagher2010 is a good guy and cares about the people he works with. If you are looking for new opportunities in Europe, ping him. #golang
