Let’s elaborate about the business impacts. Buoyant makes Linkerd. Always has. In the hope of widespread adoption, and because the cloud native ecosystem frequently demanded it of any tech they used, they transferred it to the cncf.
The bummer here is that they gave linkerd away to cncf in the first place. So now they not only need to create an enterprise product, they need to make part of it proprietary, *and* they need an alternative brand. They are the upstream. buoyant.io/blog/announcing-l…
