I briefly worked on a Democratic campaign and while the other staffers were reasonable, the local party officers and various progressive clubs were far too annoying to deal with.

I remember going to a county Democrats meeting and it devolved into a Mass Lesbian bar situation. The chair was trying to be respectful but so many people there were complete shitheads.

Almost zero Harvard grads have an issue paying off their degree. Their families are either rich enough to pay for it or they paid a heavily discounted price.

They want to remove critical skill-building from higher ed. Going to college isn’t JUST about getting a job. It’s about learning to think, learning to write, learning time management, and group participation. This administration knows that. This will make students dumber.

I did not put nearly enough effort into career development when I was in college and had a useless major on top of that. My biggest regret is not switching to something more practical when I started having doubts.

Philly is in a tough spot. It has a terrible reputation that is unfortunately largely deserved. Huge swathes of the city are totally horrendous.

Philadelphia losing its natural history museum feels like part of a larger trend: the city steadily slipping out of the tier 2 bracket (Boston, DC, Chicago) and into a peer group with Baltimore, Pittsburgh, and Detroit.

I think Notre Dame’s core curriculum is a bit bloated (especially for non A&L majors), but at least they don’t try to mix liberal arts with the hard sciences.

The rule is that if graduates of a particular program at a particular school do not earn more than the median high school graduate after three years, students at that school's program are ineligible for subsidized loans. It will mostly affect for-profit scam schools. I approve.

I was a poli sci major so I’ve lived through this shit. The only route to a successful career for most non-STEM degrees is law school, which results in additional debt. Study something that lets you pursue your passion as a hobby.
