Seeing the Kirsche Youmacon incident again...reminds it how funny it is to witness: whenever you see the same group of people, over and over again try to kick you out of things (platforms, cons, meetups, workplaces), over opinions you have that they do not like...and when you call it out for the cancel culture that it is. Their frequent smug retort is either "[Insert platform here] is a Private Company", or more funnily "if you don't like it, just create your own!" Then suddenly the people they kicked out, indeed "created their own thing" and the thing goes big or popular. You will then see the smugness leave their expression, replacing it with rage, fury and vitriol. You will also then realise, they never WANTED you to "create your own thing" and let that thing go big. Because at the end they want you isolated, they want you to beg on your knees for forgiveness for daring to disagree with them. They want to have POWER over you, that you will bend over backwards to enter or re-enter their cliques. Their reaction to the moments when people took their advice and branched out - is all the sign you need that no one has to live that way. I want to talk about this.
