What horrifyingly diabolic symbolism: today, Russia killed a one-year-old child and a 100-year-old woman in Ukraine. Absolute, pure, all-consuming evil.

45 years ago, at the height of Lebanon’s civil war between Christians and Muslims, Bachir Gemayel warned the West: “If you don’t understand that our fight is also your fight, a day will come when you’ll have to fight the same war on your own soil, but by then it will be too late.” His prediction proved prophetic. The ideology that destroyed Christian Lebanon is now destroying Europe, with the same Palestinian flags and keffiyehs serving as its symbols.

China's exports to Russia began booming right after the Ukraine invasion, but that's not the end of it. China's exports to countries in Central Asia are also up lots. You add all that up and it's 10% of Russia's GDP. China wants Russia to win in Ukraine... robinjbrooks.substack.com/p/…

Trump has given Putin concession after concession -- ending aid to Ukraine, keeping Ukraine out of NATO, celebrating Putin with a red carpet summit, dissing Zelenskyy, wavering sanctions, disrupting intelligence sharing with Ukraine -- and Putin has never changed his position on continuing the war. Not one inch.

This is who Trump is. Zelenskyy called him weak and he reacts by green lighting atrocities by russia on Ukraine. The truth is, Trump is weak.
Trump: "Russia, frankly, has been fine on Ukraine. They haven't been doing much."

Russian military blogger says Ukrainian mid-range drone strikes on the main Russian supply route in occupied southern Ukraine have almost ceased because of the throttling of Starlink. No need to elaborate on what this new freedom of logistics for Russia means for the frontline.

Dear @realDonaldTrump, Russia invaded Ukraine and killed, raped and mutilated innocent Ukrainians. They also, according to your own wife, kidnapped 20,000 Ukrainian children. Why are you putting America on the side of killers, rapists and kidnappers?

This is on you, MAGA. This dead child is on you. Oh, you’ll bluster and talk trash, but your Dear Leader Trump serves with the murderers in Moscow. I’d tell you to feel shame, but your souls are so dead you’ll laugh it off.
A horrific Russian strike in the Kharkiv region. A “shahed” struck people directly – in a park near an ordinary café. Pure atrocity. Six people were killed, including children. A little girl was killed in a stroller – her name was Angelina, she was just over a year old, born in August 2025… Her mother’s name was Inna. She died in the hospital… Another girl who was killed was 11 years old. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Another 14 people were injured, including six more children. I am grateful to everyone who supports Ukraine under these circumstances and helps us shoot down “shaheds,” shoot down missiles, and stop Russian assaults. These are horrific photos, but behind them are shattered lives and the truth about this war. Lives must be protected. Ukraine needs air defense. You can't think about making money with Russia as long as it continues its asinine war. We ask that sanctions on Russia stay in place as long as the killings continue. We ask America to be strong, and we ask it to apply the Lindsey Graham law. We ask Europe to continue its support. We ask that everything possible be done to bring peace and guarantee security. Ukraine wants peace. It is Russia that has insisted on continuing the killing all this time. The world has enough strength to stop the war. That strength must finally be used – against the murderers.

❗️Republican Congressman Fitzpatrick stated that this week he will hold talks with President Zelenskyy regarding Starshield, sanctions, and support for Ukraine, warning that any restriction on Starshield for Ukraine will result in investigations, congressional hearings, and budget cuts. He emphasized that Congress confirms Ukraine as an indispensable ally and Russia as an enemy, and demands full military support for Ukraine, tougher sanctions, and a complete ban on Russian oil imports, which will be approved by the House of Representatives.

Clueless idiot — the war isn’t about Donetsk. It never was. Putin pretending that he would stop there — while two more of the regions he illegally annexed remain Ukrainian — is a bald faced lie that only an ignorant cretin would accept as fact. And that’s only about straightforward conquest. The Kremlin wants to subjugate all of Ukraine, which means its assault will not stop while Putin is in power. It wants to restore the Soviet sphere of influence in Europe (since its restoration in Asia is blocked by China and the bunker gnome isn’t stupid enough to bite the hand that feeds him). Europe is the larger goal. Not with tanks rolling on Berlin but with indirect control through the looked of AfD in Germany now that Merkel’s out, Le Pen in France, Radev in Bulgaria, and so on. The problem is that Marco, as part of this abominable administration, is aligned with the Kremlin on the destruction of Europe as a geopolitical force. He seems to be fine living in a world that’s divided between China, Russia, and the U.S. He seems to think that throwing the meticulously built alliances that underpinned our global power is OK, and that turning the US into a typical regional bully like Russia is a path to security and prosperity. Marco needs to learn some history. But then again, his administration is in open warfare with education too, as it is with reality.
Rubio: The war in Ukraine is about one region, Donetsk. Russia occupies all but about 11% of it. Ukraine's line there is its last defensible one: beyond it, a straight shot into Kyiv. Russia demands all of Donetsk, including that line, as its definition of victory. 1/

It’s clear that @PeteHegseth has blood on his hands
The Pentagon is delaying the delivery of Patriot missiles to Ukraine—missiles that have already been paid for by allies, reports *The Kyiv Independent*. A shipment of missiles, fully funded by Ukraine’s allies (including through NATO mechanisms), is awaiting Hegseth’s signature; however, the Pentagon chief is deliberately blocking the process. The Ukrainian leadership views this decision as another form of political pressure from Washington.

Putin has long dreamed of a second Yalta to divide the world (and gain the dominance of much of Europe.) The only small problem is that he has not been able to win a war he started 4.5 years ago.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has proposed that he, President Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping meet next month to attempt to negotiate an end to the war in Ukraine that would favor Moscow, said people familiar with the discussions. on.wsj.com/4BeZLqz

Thousands of internal AfD emails (hexane.cc) contain—according to AI-generated summaries—Nazi-era terminology, swastikas, "Heil Hitler" cards, slogans like "drop dead, Merkel," concentration camp-themed jokes about refugees, and the phrase "Heil und Sieg." Alexander Gauland is among those in leadership. This is not an "isolated incident," but a pattern—and yet, this pro-Russian, Nazi-aligned party in Germany remains unbanned.
❗️ The AfD leak site's thousands of emails shows nazism from party members and staff labeled under racism/antisemitism. We went through the worst: 1. A 2018 email forwarded by Alexander Gauland concerns a "Hitler-Wallfahrt", a Hitler pilgrimage, by a former judge at the party's Thuringia arbitration court. 2. A member joked in a district WhatsApp group about turning refugees into handbags and boots, an allusion to the Nazi camps. 3. A district chairman quit, saying a board member sent a "Heil Hitler" Christmas card with a swastika and it was laughed off. 4. A Bavarian official urged party leaders to chant "Merkel verrecke", roughly "Merkel, croak", every day. 5. Federal party staff discussed luring a photographer to an event to remove him by force. The thread signs off "Heil und Sieg". 6. A 2025 NRW email is titled "Sale of swastika flags and drugs at the info stand". 7. This year alone, branches moved against members over a Nazi banner with a swastika, a Hitler impression and a call for machine guns against Arab clans.

Incredible. A Chinese-speaking hacker used AI agents to break into websites belonging to more than 100 companies, including Deere, SharkNinja, and Cummins, after targeting over 1,200 sites. The campaign cost roughly $5,000 in AI tokens—about $50 per successful breach. Successful intrusions averaged 23 hours. The attacker used the open-source Cairn framework, combining DeepSeek models with a Claude Code harness. Instructions to the agents were under 100 Chinese characters. The human set the targets and the tactics. The agents did the rest. NorForge researcher Snorre Fagerland: “It’s a new world now.” The cost of large-scale intrusion has collapsed. Chinese operators are already using the tools.

China hasn't fought a war since 1979, but it's getting a front-row education in modern warfare from Russia. And when you combine Russia's battlefield experience with China's ability to manufacture weapons at scale, it becomes even more important that we fix our own defense procurement system and rebuild the industrial capacity needed to deter a conflict in the Pacific.
Russia teaches China how to use drones, robotics, trench assaults, underground warfare, lessons from Ukraine. telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2… Experts believe Moscow is probably teaching parts of the Chinese military how to integrate its most advanced drone and counter-drone systems into land warfare. Analysts say those lessons could shape how China approaches Taiwan. Mr Arduino said: “China is gaining access to a kind of capital, a virtual capital that Russia is accumulating: wartime expertise. Russia is looking to trade this wartime expertise with its partners, and this includes drones, remote warfare, trench assaults, underground warfare, and so on.” The drills have raised questions about whether China could apply what it learns to Taiwan. Russia’s experience in Ukraine may be showing Beijing how drone swarms can overwhelm air defences. It would fit a wider push by China to build unmanned systems on a scale few other countries could match. The drills also reflect how far the balance between Moscow and Beijing has shifted. China is now Russia’s largest trading partner and a vital buyer of its oil, and Western officials say Chinese components are found in many of the drones Russia fires at Ukraine.

Senior figures from Donald Trump's political network are now working for the Russians in the Balkans, spotted at election events for Milorad Dodik's pro-Russian nationalist party in Bosnia's Republika Srpska. Among those identified or reportedly present: • **James Blair:** Former Trump White House deputy chief of staff and senior campaign strategist. • **Chris LaCivita:** Co-manager of Trump's 2024 presidential campaign. • **Alex Garcia:** Former Trump campaign official and partner at Continental Strategy. • **Andrew H. Smith:** Attorney at the law firm representing Republika Srpska. • **Caroline Wren:** Trump political fundraiser, reportedly at the victory celebration. • **Barry Bennett:** Former Trump adviser and Republican political consultant, reportedly at the celebration. Dodik is one of Vladimir Putin's closest political allies in Europe, maintaining close ties with Moscow. According to an investigation by Bosnian outlet Detektor, Republika Srpska has spent millions of dollars on American lobbying firms connected to Trump's political network.

Read my thread from 2022 to understand Russia‘s geopolitical calculus and how Putin has accelerated the global confrontation between the US & China to position Russia as a wild card in it swinging the global power equilibrium through the modus operandi of two revisionist states.
Not all realists share #Mearsheimer views on Russia's war against Ukraine. I am positioned in the #realpolitik corner while using #geopolitics and #geoeconomics as the main pillars of #foresight. This is my assessment since Dec 2021 (see pinned tweet) on Russia's plan. Thread🧵👇

Russia is running an unprecedented budget deficit. The latest figures published by FISU show the January–September deficit at $61.1 billion, already 37% above the full-year deficit originally planned by the Kremlin. Spending is up 14.5%, while revenues grew by only 10%. Oil and gas revenues fell by 17.2%. This is exactly the kind of pressure sanctions are meant to create. The goal is to reduce Russia’s ability to finance its war and bring the hostilities to an end. It is crucial to keep the restrictions in place and strengthen them. Their impact is cumulative and is already bearing results. We thank all the EU partners for adopting a new strong 22nd sanctions package. We call on the US to maintain and reinforce its pressure. We urge all other partners to introduce and synchronise restrictions on Moscow to force a sooner end to the war. Appeasement cannot bring peace closer. Sustained pressure to constrain the capacity of Russia’s war machine can.

Humiliating and dangerous: Trump has now finally just made America an ally of the Kremlin and is aiding Putin in his war against an American friend and partner. Shameful betrayal of a US friend, and pathetic submission to a US enemy. theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/1…
