Soybean lodging can make harvest more difficult, with historical studies reporting harvest losses of around 3% to 10% in lodged fields. Prioritizing lodged fields and adjusting combine and header settings can help minimize the losses. Lack of rain in Northwest Wisconsin has really dinged our yield. Our dryland soybean variety trial is running 35 bushels per acre. I guess I should’ve known when I saw this “grain tank” sitting next to the field, where we would be at.
Just getting started at Spooner ARS. @badgercropguy is reporting that the irrigated soybean variety trial is running 58 bu/a at 12.6%.

Adam Roth is just getting into our @WISoyCheckoff funded soybean replant decision trial! Lots of variables and yield variation which is good for this kind of trial!
Thanks @HBWilkens for hosting our winter grains trial in 2026/27! @ColetFabiano & Roth finishing up our fall planting! 💪

All these beans are from a single plant in central Iowa. Seed quality issues abound in 2026.
