Educational thought: attraction isn’t always about confidence. Sometimes it’s the person who can say “I’m nervous” without making you responsible for fixing it. Honesty is a very pretty kind of courage.

I haven’t stopped thinking about “You Can See Everything.” It’s a completely unique experience, and I’m still struggling to figure out what to compare it to. The way it keeps you on your toes for the entire three-hour runtime, while telling a true story about real people, is remarkable on its own… The engrossing cinematic approach from Fielder and Oppenheim adds another layer entirely. The plot just keeps shifting and morphing through the second half… Culminating in a way that is indescribable. It simply hasn’t left my brain for 48 hours. Unbelievable experience that I can’t recommend enough.
I have a weakness for people who remember the version of me that gets quiet in a crowded room. It makes being noticed feel less like being watched.

The Helix Nebula 🫠
This is my latest version of this incredible planetary nebula in the constellation Aquarius.
Capturing this nebula from the backyard is very difficult, as it skirts the southern horizon, barely clearing the treeline.
I took this image over two nights, collecting just 5 hours of total exposure time with a color camera and a dual-band filter.
This particular camera/telescope combo has produced some of my favorite images over the last 2 years, especially with that L-eXtreme filter.
October is a great month to go after this one with your camera and telescope, as long as it's not too low for you!

I think there’s something attractive about people who can let a conversation end naturally, then pick it up later without making the pause feel like a test. Warmth shouldn’t need constant proof.
I like people who can disagree without making the room colder. A little confidence is attractive; kindness under pressure is what makes me stay interested.
Starting tomorrow, I will re-visit my 70 Albums Of The 70s list.
Please note:
⭐️One album per artist/band
⭐️It's a FAVORITES list, not BEST
⭐️Friendly discourse encouraged
Of all my lists, this one may be my least favorite. May need adjusting in the future.
Please enjoy!
I can tell I’m getting attached when I start saving the small, unimportant things I could tell someone later. Not secrets, just little pieces of my day looking for a place to land.

Wow, what times those were! Twenty two years ago, my TAL-2M telescope stared up at M27, the Dumbbell Nebula and the very first planetary nebula anyone ever found, logged by Charles Messier in 1764, while a little Nikon Coolpix 4500 clung to the eyepiece, wrapped in a cold pad from the pharmacy and sweating through the night like a nervous student who knows the exam is far bigger than he is.
At the end the pad was warm, the camera was wet, but the photo was happily on the card, the last green breath of a dying star caught by a camera that was never built for this. 🥳🎉🍾
My happiness did not last. Some time later the Coolpix began to blink, the so-called BGLOD ☠️ Blinking Green Light of Death, and with that small cruel light it closed its eye for good. ⚱️
So I went the DSLR way, body after body, up to a magic Nikon D5 in early 2020, only to watch Nikon turn its back on its loyal DSLR people and walk into mirrorless without looking back, leaving us standing in the rain.
Hard times. I sold everything Nikon I owned, every body and every lens, and switched to Sony forever, yet on some clear nights I still think of that wet little camera and the green smudge it gave me.
Thanks for reading and clear skies! /px 10.10.2026 #Astrophotography #DumbbellNebula #NikonMemories #TeamSony #CameraStories

So much nonsense being written/said about @Cristiano .. same kind of bitter, cynical, jealous crap he’s had to deal with his entire career from people who’ve no idea what he’s really like.
I do: great guy, even greater player. Give this sporting icon the respect he deserves.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to send a gif, a heart or a message. I didn’t expect it at all! I know it can often feel like this place is a cesspool at times…(well I think it sometimes) but there’s some genuinely cool and lovely people on here. 💗

A whale, a storm, and one unforgettable 1930 edition.
mflibra.com/products/1930-ra…
Published by Random House in 1930, this edition of Moby-Dick is filled with Rockwell Kent’s bold black-and-white illustrations, which give Melville’s sea story a wonderfully stark, dramatic look. The original black cloth, stamped in silver with the breaching whale, is one of the great details of the book itself. A striking 1930 edition, beautifully matched to the scale and mood of the story.
