Sojourn is one of the most photogenic glass pads I've had. The artwork and colors come together beautifully, with a warm Lo-fi vibe that makes Sojourn feel genuinely refreshing. This is the kind of glass pad that reminds me why I enjoy collecting them in the first place. It feels just as much like a piece of art as it does a peripheral.

Desk height matters way more for aiming, and being at a computer all day in general, than most people think. I remember seeing a couple videos from @HPforGamers and @Kovaak_of_qw talking about it, and there’s a lot more to it than just comfort. Arm position, consistent posture, and circulation can all make a pretty noticeable difference.
I'm not looking for clout or to become a name. I just want people to optimize their aim setups so that I can move on to other projects. Who should I be begging to make videos about this desk height thing? @gghoul says his $100 desk is too trash to adjust. @RauKnows got a job and peaced out. Give me some ideas.

Midori - Sojourn Glasspad Review The Midori Sojourn is an interesting glass mousepad because it sits squarely in the speed-and-control spectrum. In a market where glasspads tend to push heavily toward one extreme or the other, the Sojourn doesn't feel like it's trying to be the fastest surface possible, nor does it try to turn glass into a control pad. Instead, it finds a really comfortable balance between the two. It is fast enough to give you the effortless movement you expect from glass, while still providing enough resistance to maintain control. After spending time with the Sojourn, this balance is easily what stands out to me the most. Specifications The Sojourn comes in at 490 × 420mm, giving it a standard large mousepad footprint that provides plenty of room for low-sensitivity players and larger arm movements. At 1.8mm thick, it also maintains a relatively thin profile, keeping the transition between your desk and the pad's surface fairly minimal. Surface & Glide The surface is easily the most important part of the Sojourn, and this is where I think Midori found its sweet spot. It is fast. It is smooth. It is controlled. The Sojourn doesn't have the feel of a surface trying to remove every possible bit of friction. At the same time, it doesn't feel slow enough to be considered a control-focused glasspad. Instead, the glide sits directly between the two. Large movements feel effortless, and there is very little resistance once you get the mouse moving. Tracking feels especially natural because the mouse can move freely across the surface with minimal additional force. What makes the Sojourn interesting, though, is that it still provides enough resistance to the mouse to maintain control. When you need to slow down or make a small correction, the mouse doesn't feel like it is completely floating across the surface. This is what I mean when I describe the Sojourn as a middle-ground glasspad. It retains the characteristics that make glasspads appealing while avoiding the extreme speed that can make some glass surfaces difficult to control. Initial Friction & Stopping Power The initial friction on the Sojourn is low. Getting the mouse moving requires very little force, making quick movements and large swipes feel extremely easy. However, the important part is what happens once you start trying to stop. The Sojourn has enough resistance to give you a sense of control underneath your hand. It doesn't feel like you have to constantly compensate for the mouse continuing to glide after you've finished your movement. This makes stopping feel more predictable than it does on some of the faster glasspads I've used. Micro-adjustments also benefit from this balance. You can make small corrections without putting excessive pressure on the mouse, while larger movements remain fast and effortless. For competitive FPS games like Valorant and CS, this balance is particularly noticeable. You can quickly move between targets while still having enough control to make the small corrections necessary for precise aiming. In games like Overwatch, the smooth glide is especially useful for tracking. The low initial friction makes it easy to follow fast-moving targets and smoothly adjust your aim as they change direction, without feeling as if the pad is fighting your movements. Feel Against the Skin Sojourn also has a comfortable feeling against the skin. During longer sessions, the surface remains consistent instead of becoming noticeably different as your arm moves across it. This is important with glasspads, because the surface constantly interacts with your skin. A surface can perform extremely well mechanically, but still become annoying if it feels harsh or distracting against your arm. The Sojourn maintains a relatively smooth interaction, making it easy to use during longer gaming sessions. Thickness & Edges At 1.8mm thick, the Sojourn has a relatively thin profile. I've always liked thinner mousepads because they feel more integrated into the desk. Your arm sits lower, and there isn't a large transition between the desk and the surface of the pad. The CNC edges are also nicely finished and don't feel sharp against the arm. However, there is one small issue I noticed during use: the transition from the CNC edge to the main surface is noticeable. It doesn't affect the pad's actual performance, but you can feel the change as your arm moves from the edge to the main surface. It's a minor detail, but given how smooth and refined the rest of the pad feels, I noticed it. Skate Dependency Like any glasspad, the skates you use will significantly affect how the Sojourn feels. Glass surfaces tend to exaggerate differences between skate materials because there is so little friction coming from the pad itself. Changing from one skate compound to another can noticeably change both the initial and dynamic friction you experience. A faster skate can push the Sojourn further toward the speed side of the spectrum, while a more controlled skate can bring out more of the stopping power and resistance already present in the surface. The shape and amount of contact your skates have with the pad can also affect the experience. Larger skates generally provide more contact with the surface, while smaller skates or dots can reduce contact and make the mouse feel more agile. Because the Sojourn already sits in the middle, it's a particularly interesting pad to experiment with. You can change the character of the surface considerably just by changing your skates. Base & Dust One of my bigger complaints with the Sojourn is actually the base. The underside tends to accumulate a noticeable amount of dust. This doesn't directly affect the glide, but it can be annoying when setting the pad down or moving it around. For a glass pad, keeping the base clean is important because dust and debris underneath the pad can affect how evenly it sits on the desk. I would have preferred to see a base that was a little less prone to attracting and collecting dust. It's a relatively minor issue in the grand scheme of things, but it is definitely worth mentioning if you like keeping your setup extremely clean. Sojourn vs. Other Glasspads The easiest way I can describe the Sojourn is that it doesn't commit to either extreme. Compared to a dedicated super-speed glasspad, the Sojourn feels more controlled and easier to stop on. You still get the fast, effortless movement associated with glass, but the mouse doesn't feel like it is completely floating across the surface. On the other hand, compared to a control-oriented glasspad, the Sojourn feels noticeably faster and more unrestricted. Larger movements require less effort, and tracking feels more natural because there isn't as much resistance behind the mouse. This puts the Sojourn in a really comfortable position. Super-speed surfaces prioritize freedom; control surfaces prioritize resistance; the Sojourn tries to balance both. That makes it a particularly interesting option for someone who isn't sure which side of the glasspad spectrum they actually prefer. Pros & Cons Pros 𑄝 Excellent balance between speed and control 𑄝 Smooth, consistent glide 𑄝 Low initial friction 𑄝 Good stopping power 𑄝 Easy micro-adjustments 𑄝 Effortless larger movements 𑄝 490 × 420mm size 𑄝 Thin 1.8mm profile 𑄝 Good option for a variety of skate setups Cons 𑄝 Noticeable transition from the CNC edge to the main surface 𑄝 The base picks up a lot of dust Who Is It For? The Sojourn is a good option for someone who wants a glasspad without committing completely to either speed or control. The Sojourn is a good option if you want: 𑄝 A balanced glass surface 𑄝 Fast but controlled movement 𑄝 Low initial friction 𑄝 Reliable stopping power 𑄝 Smooth tracking 𑄝 Predictable micro-adjustments 𑄝 Effortless larger movements If you've tried extremely fast glasspads and found them difficult to control, the Sojourn offers a more balanced alternative. At the same time, if you've tried slower glasspads and felt like they sacrificed too much of the effortless glide that makes glass appealing, the Sojourn gives you more freedom. Final Thoughts The Midori Sojourn is a glasspad that I appreciate because it doesn't feel like it is chasing one specific characteristic. It isn't trying to be the fastest glasspad possible, nor is it trying to turn glass into a control surface. Instead, it sits right in between speed and control. The surface gives you the smooth, effortless movement you'd expect from glass, but there is still enough resistance to the mouse to make stopping and micro-adjustments feel natural. Larger movements remain fast and easy, while smaller movements don't feel like you're constantly fighting a complete lack of friction. That balance is really what makes the Sojourn interesting to me. It is fast enough to feel effortless but has enough stopping power to maintain good control. The 490 × 420mm size provides plenty of room for larger movements, while the 1.8mm profile keeps the pad relatively unobtrusive underneath the arm. As with any glasspad, your choice of skate can also shift the experience considerably, allowing you to push the Sojourn further toward speed or control, depending on your setup. There are a couple of small things I would change. The transition from the CNC edge onto the main surface is noticeable, and the base tends to pick up quite a bit of dust. Neither issue fundamentally affects the pad's performance, but they're details worth mentioning when evaluating the overall experience. Ultimately, I think the Sojourn is a really good representation of what a balanced glasspad can be. It doesn't need to have the lowest possible friction or the highest possible stopping power. Instead, it gives you enough of both that you aren't forced to sacrifice one characteristic for the other.
