On X, people joke about Europe’s startup scene. I wonder how many realize that some of what sounds like satire is quite real.
I just read that the winners of Gründerszene’s ten-week startup fellowship received €10,000 as seed capital.
But the amount raises a fair question. We want young people in Germany to take risks, build companies, and compete internationally. How much time does €10,000 actually buy a team? And that’s before accounting for the cost and complexity of setting up a German GmbH rather than a Delaware corporation, plus legal and tax advice from day one.
