Let’s go: DeepSeek just open-sourced DeepInfer, the inference engine behind its production services.
Sharing this makes open models efficient at scale is a big deal: model weights alone don’t make AI cheap to run. But *this* helps.
Also notable: it runs on Huawei chips, not just Nvidia.
🚀 Introducing DeepInfer, our in-house inference framework, now fully open source!
Powering DeepSeek-V4.1-Flash at scale with high throughput and low latency. We’re sharing our production stack to help the community lower compute costs, reduce energy use, and make AI more affordable.

Wonderful news for Berbera and Somaliland. The Ambassador is a landmark local hotel brand, with its flagship in Hargeisa owned by a Somalilander. If reports of Emirati investment in the Berbera hotel are accurate, this local–UAE partnership could be an encouraging first step, attracting more investment and supporting Berbera’s growth as a major destination on the East African coast.

Now confirmed: the Ambassador Hotel in Berbera is a local–Emirati investment. Congratulations and sincere thanks to Khadar, the hotel’s owner, and to the UAE investors for bringing this project to life. This partnership is a strong example of what local and international investment can achieve, and it can encourage more investors to explore Somaliland’s opportunities.
One thing I also enjoy following is edge AI chips, which are used for edge devices.
Axera this week came out w/ AX8860 chip w/ 256 TOPS & 128GB LPDDR5X + 273 GB/s memory bandwidth. Uses 6nm process.
This type of chip can run Qwen 27B model + visual model on the same box. A few of them together can run larger models even.

NOT saying NVIDIA is buying less HBM
NVIDIA just becomes a smaller share of a much larger HBM market
That's how percentage works
In 2026, NVIDIA owns a huge slice of a smaller pizza.
In 2027, NVIDIA owns a smaller slice, but the pizza becomes almost twice as big.
But for $GOOGL and $AMD
Google's HBM demand goes from 5.85bn Gb → 19.24bn Gb, while AMD goes from 2.17bn Gb → 7.52bn Gb.
NVIDIA: 2026E = 18.75 bn Gb → 2027E = 25.08 bn Gb
That's demand, real demand, not something bears can understand!!! $MU $NVDA

Africa’s critical mineral wealth presents an opportunity to strengthen industrial development, create jobs and advance energy security.
In Bangkok, #Thailand, H.E. @MeneWamkele, Secretary-General of the @AfCFTA , participated in a fireside chat at Devex Impact House on strengthening @ASEAN - Africa partnerships in critical minerals and energy security.
The discussion explored how stronger South–South cooperation, investment, local processing and regional value chains can help African economies retain greater value from their mineral resources, with the #AfCFTA providing a framework to support regional industrial integration.

Recent work from SemiAnalysis estimates Anthropic could have 88% margins after compute costs for their inference business. That INCLUDES the "heavily subsidized" subscription business, which is still served at a 50% compute margin.
But what about training costs? Even if you assume 70% of compute is going towards R&D, you still blend to a 60% company level margin.
Add in your assumptions for data & talent costs and you can start to see how the market could be very wrong about frontier lab profitability and the sustainability of the AI buildout.
“If our research is correct, it will be a great example of the value that will be created by AI, not just for Anthropic, but the whole ecosystem.” @downingARK on what he believes an Anthropic Initial Public Offering (IPO) would reveal about the entire AI supply chain.
