I don't know how to phrase this, but all of your "diverse" characters should be based on real people you know in your real life. If the character is not your own identity, you need to come from a place of first hand knowledge (which means no celebrities).

It's both intresting and awful. I think we need to remember that is was not only Jews that was killed during the Holocaust. It was also Roamni. Around 3000 Romani died during the 2nd August 1944. And at least 19000 Romani died in Auschwitz. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romani…
