I understand why Sun Tzu had to write "The Art of War".
People straight up don't understand logistics and attritional warfare at all. They think war is one big battle where jets and missiles win and then Europe surrenders.
The reason this always ends up being black/brown writers is because the virtue signalling awards critics lose their sense of objectivity when reviewing work by minorities and convince themselves that AI kitsch is actually good writing
Exclusive: Another prestigious award has gone to a writer who seems to have used AI as the crisis of trust in the literary world intensifies, @vauhinivara reports: theatlantic.com/books/2026/1…

I am going to make a group chat full of people hacking insanely cool things onto hardware.

I have discovered $50 amazon photo frames to be the PERFECT home display screen
They can be rooted, updated to run a modern browser, have WiFi and can be powered from USB
1280×800 resolution with a nice touch screen
I detailed how to hack these yourself in my latest video

If you could kill one person in the 20th century, it should be Lenin, not Hitler. Russia going red is the first domino that led to almost every bad thing that happened for the next 7 decades.
Not a pleasant thing to hear when you've been using Claude code to clean up your hard drive. Luckily mine only freed up 100 GB worth of space
I was doom scrolling on the toilet at work. I was going to skip this tweet when I saw how long it was then a wrinkled beefy grey haired arm reached out underneath the bathroom stall door and placed a finger right on the screen such that I could not scroll. I read the post against my will then threw the door open to see who was making me do this.
You're never gonna believe who it was...
The other day I was in the subway to get to my uni. As usual, I was playing some Clash but I saw a girl who just looked like this, sitting across me. Found her cute but didn't think much about it, though pretty sure she realized i was looking at her.
Usually the train is nigh empty towards the last 10-ish stops, so it was surprising to me she was still there at the same spot. A couple stops later, we were the only 2 people I could see in our cart. I was supposed to land in the next stop, but the moment I got up from my seat, she started staring at me.
I went up to her, thinking she wanted to say something. Maybe they knew me from somewhere or confused me with someone else. Checked my own past memories just in case, but to no avail. I was sure I hadn't seen her ever before.
Right after I got next to her, she pulled me to the seat to her left and laid her face to my lap. No words, no nothing. Then I found myself petting her head. I didn't even realize I was doing that for a while, like it was almost instinctive. She seemed fine with it too.
I don't know why I did all that. At this point I was several stops past where I was supposed to leave the train and would be late to my class. But this felt... worth it. Like a break from all the insanity of life, and get to relax a bit, even though it was with someone I didn't know. Then my eyes started tearing up cuz I never had a girlfriend, or even a hooker. This was the closest thing I felt to female attention.
Suddenly I hear a loud bang at the other side of the cart, the entrance to the driver's cabin, followed up by fast footsteps. Before I knew it, the driver was next to me, pointing a gun at the girl.
Then he yelled "YOU WILL NEVER HAVE THIS" and shot her. Amongst the shock, I realized the driver was none other than Mr. Bibi Netanyahu.
I actually used to be convinced that LLM were going to hit a wall but I've changed my mind. I don't think it's because they actually have a world model though. I believe that the internet encoded enough logical relationships to act as a catalyst for recursive improvement through reinforcement learning. Basically you have a neural network version of the giant database of logic that they were trying to create manually in the 80s, then by engineering more and more complex training data, learning how to harness reasoning steps and making transformers more efficient, you can expand it into the shape of a really good world model
i don't think i have receipts but i am not surprised by this. i was and remain convinced that LLMs can go all the way, and it's because of a very strong intuition that the entire internet corpus and the structure of human language generally is an absolutely gigantic hyperobject containing a detailed and intricate world model, or at least (i think this is what we're seeing now) enough of one to provide a meaningful prior to direct RL efforts on top. there's a schmidhuber intelligence-as-compression intuition relevant here. the stochastic parroters always seemed to me to be massively underestimating the power and importance of language
This is bittersweet. I partially agree but something has been lost as well. Nothing really matches the thrill of a late night coding crunch when you finally solve a hellish problem and watch your code work. I think mental games and puzzles will become very popular as AI edges into every intellectual niche but it will never feel quite as fulfilling as productive cognitive work
I honestly don’t care at all that I spend 30 years of my life learning syntax and now that knowledge is essentially useless.
Frankly, I’m relieved that I don’t need to care about it anymore. That stuff never really mattered anyways. Code was always just a means to an end.
All I care about is building products that users love. Now I can do that faster. That means I can have bigger impact.
If anything, software engineers should all be celebrating. I don’t understand why you’d “mourn” not needing to write code. The code was never the point.
Has a profit seeking company ever taken a stand that went against its financial interests?
I'm not sure what people expected here
There’s been a lot of speculation about where we stand on open-weights models. We’ve outlined our views in full here: anthropic.com/news/position-…
