A group of global experts and decision-makers explored this topic, concluding that, in many cases, communication is the answer. This discussion, held within the  “Airspace modernisation and the governance layers challenge” panel was led by our Co-founder and CEO Lorenzo Murzilli, and featured the insights from Paul Kennedy, Head of Aviation Infrastructure at the Irish Aviation Authority (@IAApress); Marielies Becker, Senior Manager for Innovation Aerospace at Berlin Partner für Wirtschaft und Technologie GmbH; Colin Chesterton, Challenge Lead at the UK Civil Aviation Authority (@UK_CAA); and Sergio David Díaz Martínez, Aerospace Engineer at Parque Tecnológico Fuerteventura. During this panel, Larissa Haas, UAS Policy Coordinator for the Strategy and Innovation Unit at the Federal Office of Civil Aviation (FOCA), explained that Swiss authorities were overwhelmed by the complexity of the first U-space airspace plans, and this communication gap made the process slower and much more arduous.
