The great Norm Macdonald (d. 2021) would have turned 67 today. A true comedian's comedian.
Macdonald never hid his admiration for the legendary Rodney Dangerfield, whom he called his comedy idol. In a 2011 interview, he fondly recalled Dangerfield's 1996 Weekend Update cameo on Saturday Night Live, describing it as one of the highlights of his time on the show. For Macdonald, sharing the desk with his hero was a dream come true.

Charleston, I’m heading home with a full heart.
Apes on Ice meant so much to me and our team. Seeing you walk through those doors, hug friends, meet for the first time, and laugh together made every late night and every month of planning worth it.
To everyone who spent part of your weekend with us, thank you. I’ll never forget looking around that room and seeing an idea we cared so much about become a memory we all get to share.
To our partners, thank you for believing in us and putting your time, energy, and trust behind this.
And to my team, thank you for caring as much as I do and giving so much to bring this night to life.
From all of us, thank you for being part of Apes on Ice. I’m deeply grateful. ❤️
