@myhandle's Navigation By Moonlight explored the feminine art of yin - setting up opportunities. Extend that logic to its natural counterpart - the art of yang is acting on opportunities - and you get a noble vision of what it means to be a man, that goes beyond just dating

You have some ability to simulate seeing your bottlenecks by holding two different perspectives, but this gets greatly magnifed in closer relationships because you can hit your integration limit more. This extra sight and motivation to expand it makes good relationships.
E.g.: you can’t see your bottlenecks (definitionally). But everyone else sure can.

You’re not supposed to love anyone more than yourself, I think. You’re just supposed to find someone you can categorize as “yourself” for the purpose of love (Do Not Do This if you hate yourself though)

Are there examples of the inverse? "I thought I was scared and hiding my desire from myself, but it turned out I actually didn't have that desire in the first place"?
realized I've been in one of those "I thought I was unsure yet about what I want but actually I am perfectly clear about my desire, I'm just scared and hiding it from myself" type of situations

Broke: "hey can you whisk the eggs for me?" Bespoke: *whisk the eggs so badly he's compelled to grab them from your hands* Of course someone named Holmes would know this move
my favourite part of the movie was the egg whisking scene i think. like yeah bitch you do actually have to whisk with some vigor, and it is quite tiring to do so, so just gimme the fuckin bowl for a second and let me use my man wrists on it

Was this scene about Billy being a controlling narcissist or about Liz being a masterful manipulator? Yes.

Almost every action can be a good opener if you pay attention to the feedback loops they make/change.

I would love to know if Nathan got this line before or after the NYT interview in YCSE
this is a hilarious tweet to read when you're in the middle of watching The Rehearsal season 2 because of YCSE

think of the average driver’s level of competence, texting and driving, etc next imagine them doing it in the air 10-20 years from now it will seem crazy we ever allowed humans to pilot these death machines around on solid ground

There's something common to enjoyable musical improv, enjoyable sex, and good convos which is like: being present and immersed, noticing and following what feels good and curious, noticing when you're forcing/clenching and stopping doing that. Part of this is just "flow," but it feels like the relational component is important too -- having something outside yourself to attune to and play off of
