The heart does much more than pump blood—it continuously sends signals to the brain. Understanding how the brain interprets these signals throughout life remains one of the fascinating frontiers in neuroscience.

INTERESTING: “If every citizen becomes a journalist, it will create problems for all,” says CJI Surya Kant.
With a mobile phone, every citizen can now document events and hold power to account. Not everyone is a professional journalist, but every citizen has a right to free expression.

🚨MASSIVE BREAKING : Indian Express Just EXPOSED Fraud in Indian Defence Sector🔥
(MUST Read & Share)
the aiming system of the Army's anti-tank missiles.
The operator uses them to lock onto an enemy tank.
Bharat Dynamics Ltd makes missiles for India. It's a government PSU.
For 2 years, its optical sights orders went to a public-sector firm.
In 2024 and 2025, BDL bought them through competition, only from public-sector firms. Defence PSU India Optel won both times.
2026? Competition gone. PSU rule gone.
A "single tender" to just one private firm, Aindri Defence Advisory.
Per Indian Express:
-> It was set up in May 2024 by BDL's own ex-CMD Siddharth Mishra and his wife, 14 months after he retired.
-> His wife now owns 95%.
-> Company records show no assets. Its Hyderabad office was found locked.
-> The bid is ₹56.8 crore, with a 15-year maintenance tie-up.
-> And the reason for the "urgency"? Never spelled out.
Mishra, his wife and BDL gave no reply.
Bro, imagine your son's school buys the bus brakes from the old principal's wife's company.
No other quotes. No workshop. Just a locked shutter.
"Urgent hai," they say.
And your child rides that bus every morning.
Here, it's the soldier's life riding on that aim.
Modi ji, you salute the jawans in every speech.
Then who certified this "urgency," and why is it hidden?
The Defence Ministry sits under you. Answer, or is it "national security" again 🔥🔥🔥

Hello @DelhiPolice,
Can you tell the people of India, how much taxpayer money are you wasting on doing illegal surveillance on me?
Just give a rough estimate :)

Most Indians don't know this, but the Dreze family are literally academic royalty in Belgium.
Jean's brother the late Xavier Dreze was a highly regarded Marketing professor at UCLA's Anderson School of Management. He was one of the very very few who could do both modeling and consumer behavior research. He died very young at age 48. His obituary says he was a true polymath with multiple academic and sporting talents.
Jean's father the late Jacques Dreze was an economist at the Université Catholique de Louvain. He was a highly regarded economist and the first president of the European Economic Association. He has collaborated with nobel laureates Robert Aumann and Franco Modigliani and his publication record is comparable with the best in the field.
Jean Dreze could have had a very cushy life with his family legacy, white skin and European passport. Even in India, he could have been a social butterfly flitting in and out of five star hotels and running think tanks funded hy veated interests. Instead, he took Indian citizenship, learnt Hindi and roughs it out in rural Jharkhand. He designed many schemes and his footprint is all over Indian economic policy.
You may like him or hate him. But Jean Dreze is more Indian than anyone who was born Indian, including you and me. He chose to be Indian. And he has dedicated his life to India.
Think of this the next time some illiterate journalist asks "Who is Jean Dreze?"

Jean Dreze is more Indian than their entire ilk put together. He has spent almost five decades living among, working with and advocating for India's most vulnerable communties. His life and work challenge the very idea that Indianness is determined by birthplace and cultural conformity. Of course, they won't understand.
His life and work have revolved around around better understanding hunger, poverty, inequality, food security, education, child nutrition, healthcare and gender justice. Again, alien concepts for them.
An added fun fact for the andh bhakt mandli - Dreze was granted Indian citizenship in 2002, by the Vajpayee led NDA government.

To term Navi Pillay an ‘indentured servant’ is historically false and profoundly demeaning. Her forebears endured indenture. Their suffering is neither an insult nor a hereditary status to pin on a descendant.
You may disagree with her judgments if you wish, but do engage with them. Reducing a distinguished jurist to the colonial subjugation suffered by her ancestors betrays contempt for the dignity of labour and for a painful chapter of our own history. A seasoned Indian journalist should know better.

Peaceful protests is a democratic activity. Last time I heard India was a democratic country.
A note for funders these days - this year's Nobel prize was not possible without at least 50-60 years (may be more) of curiosity-driven basic science encompassing, Physics, Microbiology, Genetics and Neuroscience. We will soon see many experts commenting on why India doesn't win one - the first response should be simply keep funding more and more high quality basic science of every domain rather than worrying TRLs if you have even want to have a shot. Technology will follow and keep yielding surprising dividends.
Thrilled to see Neuroscientists who have inspired several breakthrough discoveries in the field winning the Nobel prize. Just wow !

We spent months investigating the inner working of the EC.
What we found: the majority of the Commission, kept in the dark for almost a year.
Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi objected on record at least 14 times in 10 months, FOUR times on a single day, to decisions taken in the Commission's name without their knowledge.
Here is what they flagged:
