1/ Today we’re releasing Aerie: fast post-quantum signature aggregation, using lattice-based SNARKs for lattice-based Falcon signatures. On a laptop (CPU only), it aggregates roughly a full Ethereum slot’s worth of signatures (32,768) in 0.65 seconds.

Introducing Magnetar from Microsoft Research, the first zkVM that is: (1) general-purpose (RV64), (2) post-quantum from standard hashes alone (no curves, no lattices, no Poseidon), and (3) built for recursion. Despite its conservative security, it is the fastest zkVM: 7.2–8.7 MHz on a laptop, 10–39× faster than existing zkVMs across 15 workloads! An optimized version reaches 9.5–12.8 MHz. Links in the thread below.

If you're in Barcelona next Thursday, this will be fun! Will go over some of the math behind lattices and how they are used to build post-quantum cryptography.

6/ Lattice-based cryptography is here, and it's here to stay. Post-quantum encryption has no hash-based option — provably so — and lattice-based signatures (ML-DSA) will authenticate the software the world runs on. The very machine that runs your SNARK will rely on lattices.

I just discovered an awesome compression algorithm: your 4000 word blog post can be compressed down to the prompt you gave Claude to write it.

I'm hosting USDC/USDT token balance PIR locally beside my dappnode. Try it at pir.phantom.zone. Please be gentle :) Only the addresses that were active after 20th August 2026 are included.

These past days I've been reading this pdf, and it is really interesting (I had no prior idea on LLMs). Really recommended. Don't ask an LLM for an overview, read it through, it's only 16 pages. Afterwards you can do a quick impl to see the compnnts in action, really interesting!
"The Simple Mathematics of Large Language Models" is a concise free paper if you want to understand the mathematics behind modern LLMs and systems such as ChatGPT and Claude. I have shared several resources in the past that explain the mathematics behind these systems in detail, but they are often quite long. This paper is only about 20 pages, so I think it is a useful resource if you want a compact introduction without starting from a much larger textbook. It covers token representations, context, attention as learned weighted averaging, projections and bilinear forms, multi-head attention, normalization, positional information, softmax, maximum likelihood, cross-entropy, and gradient descent. Together, these topics give a concise mathematical picture of how a language model works. Save it to your bookmarks. It can be useful as a quick reference. crc.business-school.ed.ac.uk…

(reading = with (fountain)pen and paper on the side, as always with math documents) It really helps to understand the internals of LLMs, demystifying the "Artificial Intelligence".

Lately I've been using chatgpt to ask questions about study topics, but it has a bit of UX friction (and slow on non newest macbook), so I've built an alternative frontend that has several features I wished I had. You can use it at study.arnaucube.com, or host it locally.

(you can just vibe code it, but sharing it in case you want to save time) Features: - can branch off any previous answer - select a chunk of text from an answer and ask about it - vim-like shortcuts - plain js + html + css - you see token usage and cost estimations

Proving standard hashes matters for the post-quantum transition of blockchains, so: what's the simplest proof system to reach the "escape velocity"? Turns out old techniques can get you past both Ethereum's and Bitcoin's requirements! In eprint queue from a few days!

We won’t be able to avoid Chat Control and government/corporate surveillance in the future. But we can render that surveillance worthless. A censor’s database is only valuable if what’s in it actually means something. An AI agent nullifies the evidentiary value of everything they’ve collected about you. Let’s contaminate the censors! The new privacy rule for the AI era is: Any intercepted communication must always be AI-generated. contaminatecensors.org/ In the coming weeks, I’ll be publishing a set of AI prompts on notme.chat/ that will replace all of your (Chat Control) potentially spied-on communications with AI agents who will explain to your friends and acquaintances that they can only reach you via a secure messenger. If it’s not end-to-end encrypted, it’s not you.

I was curious on how (post-quantum) lattice-based SNARKs work. I've been reading the LaBRADOR paper. This post tries to explain the intuition and steps not explicitly shown in the paper, which helped me understanding it. arnaucube.com/blog/labrador.…
