๐Ÿคฏ I had to try this too. My prompt was a bit longer: โ€œOn the redash.io website we have a short video showcasing redash. Make a dynamic 15 second motion graphics video that can replace it.โ€ After the first result I followed up with: โ€œThis is nice. Can you make the logo look like the real one and retain the animation you made with the bars?โ€ I think my next prompt will be: โ€œupdate the Redash app design to match the videoโ€ ๐Ÿ˜…
Wow! One shot claude demo. Prompt: make a dynamic 15 second motion graphics video that shows what an incredible tool flipper is. Could it be improved? Sure, but honestly its stupid good for < 100 character prompt.

I made a new release of Redash yesterday with 13 CVEs fixed. In the lifetime of the project until now (~10 years) we had only 7โ€ฆ Itโ€™s much easier to find vulnerabilities, but also to fix them and hopefully for users to upgrade to latest.
This past Thursday, the scheduled Postgres minor releases came out. As expected, the CVE count continues to explode: 28 this time, more than 2ร— the previous scheduled release, which had 11. And 17 of those 28 CVEs have score > 8.0... I can only imagine how much work it takes behind the scene, to handle that amount security issues to be fixed. === Another interesting detail: 18.5 was never released, and never will be. Minor version jumped straight from 18.4 to 18.6 because a regression was discovered after 18.5 had already been wrapped. I couldn't remember the last time a PostgreSQL minor version was skipped. Turns out it was long, long time ago -- June 2008. Back then, an entire release train was skipped at once: 7.4.20, 8.0.16, 8.1.12, 8.2.8, and 8.3.2. So 18.5 is the first skipped PostgreSQL minor version in roughly 18 years. === And 18.6 is absolutely record-breaking in terms of the number of CVEs fixed in a single release: 28. The question now is: what's coming next? How big will the next wave of this CVE tsunami be?

A lot of the discussion around bespoke software at the age of AI is black and white: it's either all bespoke (which feels unreasonable) or all SaaS. But as with anything there is always a middle ground. More SaaS becoming platforms for bespoke UIs and integrations is the more likely future.
"Creation as a Service" will always beat "Software as a Service". I don't want your lowest-common-denominator software. I want software to work for me and meet my needs. I want platforms and infrastructure. To me, Slack is a good example of an ideal in-between of SaaS and Platform. I have zero interest in vibe coding my own Slack. (It's also particularly difficult software to perfect and scale, and if you disagree you have no idea how to build software ๐Ÿคก). I do have a strong interest in extending Slack with our own agents. As I shared yesterday, more of our company runs on Slack-based "@" agents. We're making it easier than ever to deploy Slack agents on Vercel, with our AI infrastructure (gateway, workflows, sandbox, etc), starting with @v0. A lot of SaaS might be cooked, but Salesforce has a generational re-birth opportunity with Slack.

the real innovation is likely at the end users software. until now users had to adapt to the software. we have the technology to make software far easier to use and adapt to the user, we just need to do the last mile and bring it to the users. instead we're all busy building yet another agent orchestrator ๐Ÿซฃ
lots of talk on here, not a lot of innovation (that includes my work). models have improved, but everything around them is basically a play on the original CC. if agents make experimentation in software so feasible, then why don't we see that materialize in products?

these days when i need to configure something in my machine i just ask claude to do it for me. but my wife wants to disable the waiting room in her zoom link and doesn't know how. she should be able to just ask the software to do it for her.

We all need to update our mental model about whatโ€™s possible and timeframes. This has impact on software design as well: before we would have more complex code to enable reuse. But now that writing code is trivial, do we still need to pick complexity in favor of reuse?
Not long ago, switching your diffs library would sit in a backlog ticket for months. Now ~everyone adopted @pierrecomputer's diffs library within 30 days, and it's a negative signal to see any other kind of diff in a product.
