DAY THREE - We visited Kilbourne Hole, where Apollo and Artemis astronauts have trained in planetary geology... and Aden Crater, an analog for many extinct volcanos on Mars and throughout the solar system!
This was nearly four hours off road!
DAY TWO - After a visit to the New Mexico Museum of Space History, we visited the Moon, Mars, and elsewhere in the solar system, without leaving New Mexico!
Carrizozo Lava Flow is analogous to 3.5 billion year old lava flows on the moon - or much more recent sites on Jupiter's volcanicly active moon Io. White Sands National Park is very similar to the Olympia Undae gypsum sand dunes around the Martian North Pole.
DAY ONE - The latest cohort of the Earth and Space Experience visited the @ChallengerCtr in Las Cruces and then @Spaceport_NM! Everyone was fantastic in their roles during the simulated mission to Mars, and gracious guests at @virgingalactic. #spaceeducation #spaceenthusiast
