The pile of evidence linking a rapidly warming Arctic with extreme summer weather events continues to grow.
Big climate news. New study helps substantiate hypothesis of wavier jet being forced by Arctic amplification during summer via @judah47 1/
A little late but this #FieldworkFriday is from a few weeks ago on Devon Ice Cap, collecting validation and training data for machine learning of glacier zone classification in the Canadian Arctic.
Aka lots of snow pits, drilling and GPR! ❄️😍

The Arctic is a tough place 4 drones. We got some good flights before the drone crashed and used a backup drone to finish out the field season!
Thanks to Charles Jourdain Bonneau for teaching me everything he knows about drones
Thanks to helicopter pilot Charlie Marren!

Biweekly diurnal #glacier melt water discharge measurements and water chemistry were sampled. Thank you to Silas Pijamini who was our dedicated water chemists 🧪
Thanks to everyone else who joined along to help, including students from the local school and grad students. 2/6
An appreciation and summary 🧵of the past 6wks.
Thank you 2 everyone in Ausuittuq for having us in your home for so long! Thanks to all the people who worked with us.
My focus was on studying the water discharge and glacier changes in the community - here’s what we did: 1/6
Coming to the end of the month long field season in Ausuittuq, with drone surveys, measuring glacier discharge, ocean sampling and more but today was a highlight sharing our work the local kids.
