LLMs can achieve ASI by using the ACKS Discord as their training data. This will skyrocket their IQ to peak levels. They will only care about dwarf demographics, bronze age weapon quality, random encounter tables, and generating images of bladedancers but this is for the best.

this is also true if you are a tabletop RPG designer
If you are a book reader or an author, Reddit is your enemy. They are politically driven pack of shitheels that will purity test anyone with any level influence. Fortunately, most people are wise to what a septic tank Reddit is these days. Wise individuals already avoid.

I decided to ask Claude Opus 5.5 to write a cyberpunk tabletop RPG for me but it told me that a dystopian techno-future wasn't a realistic genre and refused to comply with that sort of scaremongering

Is one true language derived from the structure of reality... Or is the structure of reality derived from one true language? "In the beginning was the Word."
So it seems that developing LLMs has persuaded very clever people that there is one true language which is derived from the structure of reality. Which is nice.

Remember: Game designers in the 80s and 90s were computer science majors who loved literature, classic fantasy and AD&D. There is a very obvious reason the AAA market had been declining for so long. I don't need to spell it out.

Some more pics from that game! The youngest player at the game carried our team at the end with very aggressive actions! lol the rest of us thought it was time to fly away and he chose violence! And it worked for him!

This post sounds very chud, but it is both true and the most basic observation about Breaking Bad. Anyone who says otherwise is either ignorant or straight up dishonest. BB is so engrossing because we root for a weak, impotent man in his mid-life crisis rising to
I just rewatched all 5 seasons of Breaking Bad and am once again struck by two things 1) the show is about Walt overcoming his stunted, domesticated self to became a fully formed man 2) his family—not the narcos, the bikers, or even the DEA—are the villains of the show

While I detest dark patterns and it's one of the many reasons why I've been avoiding modern games, this a powerful lesson for game design. Incentives is what drives player's behavior, not options.
Decompilation isn’t just for games. This guy on Instagram is decompiling popular apps breaking down how they work, monetize, and… use dark patterns. instagram.com/reel/DeUlQTQxv…

Danno is one of those gamer's gamers. He did Arnecon and was in there gaming like a champ, and now he is back at it at another convention D&D'ing his heart out. I can't keep up with that kind of dedication. I think I slept half a day when I got back from just one convention. 😆
We are 8 hours into B5 Horror On The Hill. We have lost a total of 5 player characters so far. And by lost, I mean they were killed☠️ My 3rd level Dwarf is the last of the original group. Down to the 2nd level of the Dungeon after dinner break.

it was excellent!
Arnecon 4 Recap Officially the first game played this year - Outdoor Survival. @SpaceCowboyVFX was a huge hit when he unleashed this classic board game he brought along after the guest dinner. I don't want to incriminate anyone, but yes, that is Mrs. Double D playing. She abandoned the guys in the bar to go play a game like a true hardcore gamer. @ArneconTFotT @WeeWheaton

Nah bro my 1,500-page RPG simulation is going to be a mainstream hit really soon now
You literally cannot sell to someone more than 30 IQ points below you To them you sound like a guy talking weird & weird means scam This is why your 160 IQ friend is broke & some 115 with a podcast has a Lambo 115 is the richest IQ on earth. Smart enough to see the play, dumb enough to explain it so 100 million people get it The genius is writing 9 paragraphs about "incentive structures" to an audience of 40 If you're actually smart, the most profitable thing you can do is hire a 115 to talk for you If you're a 115, shut up & enjoy it

Interesting to see how similar both classical and romantic spirts are when contrasted to modernism.
bj mf it occurred to me upon waking that the west has somehow managed to simultaneously kill the classical and romantic spirits and this explains a lot about what's going on for those of you who are paying attention hashing this out with gpt and this essay is full of bangers i would add further that all of this has all happened because men have forgotten god in a solzhenitsynian sense

At long last we have finally created the remote control war pretending to be a video game from Orson Scott Card’s classic “Don’t Create The Remote Control War Pretending To Be A Video Game”
Ukrainian-developed FPV drone simulator “Remote Reaper: FPV Drone” has officially left Early Access, with version 1.0 now available on Steam. Developed in collaboration with military pilots, the simulator focuses on combat FPV drone operations and introduces several features in its full release, including armored vehicles with modeled vulnerable zones, electronic warfare effects that can disrupt video feeds and control signals during the final stage of an attack, and a customizable drone editor. Version 1.0 also adds configurable weather conditions, custom mission editing, real-time flights with other pilots and a racing mode. Players can use FPV hardware or a gamepad with realistic flight physics, or opt for simplified controls using a keyboard and mouse. #RemoteReaper #FPV #FPVDrone #DroneSimulator

Best explanation for magic using ancient languages was r. scott bakker's second apocalypse IMO, where incantations are in dead languages because living languages change over time and the ambiguities in the precise meanings and connotations of words this produces are dangerous.
Magic systems always use some ancient language like Latin or somethin but I think it'd be hilarious if spells just required like, regular English sentence structure "Get a bit warmer" "exactly 15 ice spikes" "shield that's kinda yellow and see through"

Arnecon 4 has come and gone. Lots of indie creators running their own games for other indie creators. Such a great weekend of 247 non-stop D&D games.
Had a great time playing in a big Barrows & Borderlands game run by @SpaceCowboyVFX himself at @ArneconTFotT yesterday evening. ⚔️ #ttrpg #dnd #arnecon

Replying to @Aedrareforged
WoW gradually shifted from being designed as a world to inhabit to being a content delivery system. "Content delivery system" is now the normative way of building an MMO ("theme park" design) because players bitch when there is any measurable advantage to class X under condition Y or they encountered some unfair situation. I used to bitch all the time about how warriors were fundamentally gimped if you were playing solo. Problem is that a believable world has to be able to tell players: "Yeah, that sucked. Deal with it." Because once it stops doing that it becomes obvious that the world exists for the player, not independent of the player. Long story short, you eventually reach a point where balance, convenience, and legibility can only come at the cost of the world's verisimilitude.
