If there were more Elise Nieshallas in public service across this country, it would be better in every conceivable way.
When I took office, I devoted myself to continuing our nationally recognized financial reporting and to advancing transparency for one of the brightest economic beacons in America — the State of Indiana. Indiana has shown the nation what fiscal discipline looks like — healthy reserves, low debt, a balanced budget, well-funded pensions, and a AAA credit rating — and we stand as an inspiration to the federal government and other states struggling with massive debt. That record was built by you, Hoosiers who understand that our state has a duty to live within its means in service to the families and businesses that call this State home. Through this election, Hoosiers have spoken, and I fully respect our democratic process. I have called Jessica Bailey to congratulate her and made a promise, that I also make to you: my office will ensure a smooth and professional transition in service to her and the great State of Indiana. Serving as your State Comptroller has been one of the great honors of my life. A huge and heartfelt thank-you to all the volunteers, donors, friends and supporters who worked hard and dug deep to get out the vote across this state. To my campaign staff — what an honor to have been in the trenches together. We gave this effort our all, and I’m so proud of our campaign. To my official staff — the precision of your work, your commitment to being “At your service,” combined with your passion for fiscal responsibility, makes this whole state proud, and together, we extended the brightest light of transparency to federal funds coming to Indiana. Finally, I thank my husband, Chris, and my family for their incredible support and for how they have shared in this commitment to public service for the sake of faith, family, freedom and fiscal responsibility. It was a tough night last night, not just here, but for Republicans across the country. It hurts, but we can’t let disappointment turn into retreat. Now is the time to evaluate what happened and why, and then get right back in the fight to keep our Republic free and Indiana strong — because the next election will be here before we know it. God bless and keep the great State of Indiana.

They will do nothing but hold show hearings and accomplish nothing for the American people. Their social media accounts have made that abundantly clear.
They are going to need to plant new forests for all of the subpoenas we’ll be printing.

Ross is a national treasure and is quietly working to save Western Civilization by making its enemies admit that they are evil without them realizing that they’re admitting it.
Ross Douthat was put on this earth to induce public fitgures to calmly, smilingly, and winsomely confess that they are psychopaths.

She did a fascism.
Democratic Sen. Elissa Slotkin says she wants to deter young people from working for Donald Trump. Down this road lies more bitterness and political dysfunction. on.wsj.com/4ia1nt8

Viola’s behavior toward the traditional Mass is demonic, no doubt. But let’s not lose our minds over this appointment. Where else was he going to go? As the Archpriest of St Peter’s, yes he will undoubtedly prevent the celebration of the traditional Mass there. Yes, he will likely be named a cardinal. But if he’s sent to a diocese, he would have a negative effect on the daily liturgical life of hundreds of thousands of people. That’s not true in this position. If he’s named prefect of another dicastery he’d be named a cardinal anyway. I won’t read in to why Leo appointed Viola to this position, but in this position the damage he can do is contained.
St. Peter's Basilica has a new Archpriest Pope Leo XIV has appointed Vittorio Francesco Viola OFM, the current secretary of the Dicastery for Divine Worship, and prime enforcer of Traditionis custodes, who famously wears the episcopal ring of Annibale Bugnini, as Vicar General of Vatican City State, Archpriest of St. Peter's Basilica and President of the Fabric of St. Peter.

Today the Vatican released the final report on canon law from the Synod on Synodality. Among the proposed changes to Canon law: (1) the infallibility of the sensus fidelium inserted above the infallibility of the Pope, as the first and fundamental level of infallibility. (2) emphasizing and granting the ability for lay people - both men and women - to assist (or preside) at the sacrament of matrimony when a priest or deacon is not available (3) bishops can appoint lay people as diocesan judges and in tribunals (4) local provinces are to have councils every ten years, and their acts will be presumed valid if the apostolic see does not object to them within one years time (5) bishops are required to first acquire the consent of their presbyteral council before making certain changes to parishes and seminaries and before doing other acts (6) every parish is required to have a pastoral council wherein the lay people of that parish have a consultative role in formulating the pastoral guidelines for the parish and in other matters related to the parish (7) diocesan pastoral councils must meet at least every ten years and may invite to be members of the council Christians from other ecclesial communities and Church in partial communion with the Catholic Church synod.va/content/dam/synod/p…

This is spot on. Cavadini has done incredible work at Notre Dame. You can be spectacularly wrong on a prudential decision and still be worthy of praise for the great work you do.
I disagree strongly w/Cavadini on SP, but he is eminently worthy of the Ratzinger prize. I don't want some narrative to build online that he's a big lefty who hated Ratzinger--far from it. Cavadini's fidelity to the Church made Notre Dame and its theology dept enormously better.

Imagine giving parents less than half of this per child directly. 8 families band together and hire a teacher for a $200,000 per year contract. Kids get a superior education. Teachers make more money and have more flexibility. There’s only one reason we can’t: government unions.
I went to the school of @nhannahjones's daughter. 💵 It spends $52,000 per kid 👩‍👩‍👧‍👦 80% of children are Black/Hispanic 📚 Just 1 in 4 are proficient in math/reading Neither racism nor funding are the problem. A nearby charter school teaches us a lesson.

The guy who says America is the worst country in the world and deserved 9/11 defends Dan Osborn….in case you were unclear on who is supporting Democrat Dan.
Nebraska Senate race has broken containment. Hasan Piker's weight in Dan Osborn's most recent audio leak as Sen. Pete Ricketts maintains a consistent drumbeat of painting Osborn as a “secret” Democrat, vowing not to make the “same mistake” as U.S. Sen. Deb Fischer in 2024 by ignoring him.

I fully expected Democrat plant @osbornforne to get annihilated by Ricketts when the campaign got started. Can’t say I expected him to actually hang himself by so admitting outright that he was lying, and then get recorded doing it.
Nebraska Sen. Pete Ricketts tweeted about the leaked audio from Dan Osborn.
