Coming to the visionOS App Store later this month. We’re entering a new era of video.
Gaussian splat videos are getting really good. The detail here, especially in the fabric and hair, is seriously impressive. Well done @gracia_vr Thanks for letting me check out the TestFlight on Apple Vision Pro.

This is wild. Arcturus Studios is capturing real sports in full volumetric so you can explore the action from any angle. They surround the field with cameras and use Gaussian splatting to turn the game into a 3D experience. This is the future of sports.

Apple’s newest immersive video for Vision Pro, Flight Ready, gives you a pretty good idea of how Top Gun might have looked if it were shot in immersive – offering captivating glimpses into the daily lives of F-18 fighter pilots, captured in breathtaking 180° 3D. It shows how intense and demanding it must be to land those jets on such a narrow flight deck, especially at night. It’s the first time I’ve seen so many dark scenes in an immersive video, which was a very interesting creative choice because it completely changed the tone halfway through. Immersive video always makes everything feel more real, which makes the storytelling so much more powerful.

ExplorePOV has quickly become one of my favorite Vision Pro apps. The first Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive footage from French Polynesia is stunning and makes you feel like you are there. They have a massive library and Premium is on sale right now. Not sponsored, just a fan.

YouTube preview: youtu.be/dD-Ci_JvG-M After a week of handworks — we’ve wrapped the world’s first independent Immersive Film captured on the brand-new Blackmagic Design URSA Cine Immersive. The result is a 13-minute travel piece, mastered at 8K per eye, 90 fps HDR and packaged as the official Apple Immersive Video (AIVU) file. Why this is worth checking out:
✅ No demo reel: this is a finished narrative travel short, shot entirely on URSA Cine Immersive with zero outside funding by a paid customer / filmmaker.
✅ End-to-end Apple pipeline: captured in Blackmagic RAW (BRAW 12:1), graded in Resolve 20 (beta), wrapped with Apple Immersive Video Utility, and validated on visionOS 26.
✅ Open download: you can download the AIVU file here and watch on your Apple Vision Pro locally here: patreon.com/posts/worlds-1st…
✅ You can stream directly on our app Spatial Film in 16K 90fps here: apps.apple.com/us/app/spatia… We’d love your feedback. Would you invest in an URSA Cine Immersive for Apple Immersive Video production? What kind of immersive content would you create?

I had the incredible opportunity to work with MacGillivray Freeman Films, legends in IMAX filmmaking, to bring their stunning documentaries to Apple Vision Pro. From stereo video and spatial audio pipelines to color fidelity, performance, and streaming, we custom-built everything to preserve the cinematic scale and emotional power of the originals. With @zacharyhandshoe from @thespatialgen providing the awesome streaming support, we delivered “Epic Earth” a Vision Pro launch title unlike anything else on the platform. If you love great cinema or want to see what spatial storytelling can truly be, do not miss this. Proud to have been part of something this ambitious—and excited for what is next.

Converted some of our existing immersive videos to be tagged with the new APMP and got them to run in our custom app using the built in player, pretty seamlessly. Tried a 360° video as well and all played nicely. #WWDC25

Apple Immersive Video Utility quietly dropped on the App Store and inside visionOS — right in the middle of the madness that was NAB 2025. And somehow, we were lucky enough to be among one the very first creators to get hands-on review. We tested it using the new @Blackmagic_News URSA Cine Immersive camera and the DaVinci Resolve Immersive Build, and… wow. Let me tell you — the video will show you more than words ever could. But to be totally honest? This is the best immersive image quality I’ve ever seen in my entire career. Yes, even better than Apple’s own immersive content on Apple TV. Not exaggerating. No chromatic aberration. No stereo conflict in the corners. Just pure, comfortable 3D depth with insanely sharp resolution — even in close-up scenes. But what really blew my mind is the progressive immersion system. With @Apple new Immersive Video Utility, the same video can shift seamlessly between Spatial Video and Immersive 180 — and the control is entirely in the viewer’s hands. Too much immersion? Click a button, and the same content plays in a 16:9 spatial format. Want to go full 180? One tap and you’re back in immersive mode. There’s no longer a divide between Spatial Video and Immersive 180. They’re now different states of the same media — and that changes everything for filmmakers like us! No more dual camera setup. Just ONE Blackmagic Design URSA Cine Immersive Camera you got both outputs for dual purposes. What do you think on the “Progressive Immersion” concept? Blackmagic Design just made a huge announcement at NAB 2025 — revealing their full immersive video workflow from camera to Apple Vision Pro. In this video, we walk through the Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive pipeline, from capture in Blackmagic RAW, through DaVinci Resolve, all the way to native immersive playback on Apple Vision Pro using MV-HEVC metadata. We also sat down with Blackmagic Design to discuss the latest URSA Cine Immersive firmware and UIs update, immersive color grading workflows, and a powerful REST API that allows remote camera control — perfect for broadcast and remote Immersive 180 capture environments. Captured live at NAB 2025, this is the first in-depth look at how Blackmagic is setting a new standard for immersive filmmaking, delivering true 8K-per-eye playback with zero baked-in rendering and no double-pass quality loss. Comment “URSA Cine” for the full 30-minute in-depth video. #ursacineimmersive #applevisionpro #visionpro
