I got early access to Real Madrid: The Weight of Greatness on Apple Vision Pro and it genuinely feels like the future of sports broadcasting.
Filmed with 30+ Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive cameras, the perspectives and level of immersion are incredible. 21 min. Available May 22

Coming to the visionOS App Store later this month. We’re entering a new era of video.
Gaussian splat videos are getting really good.
The detail here, especially in the fabric and hair, is seriously impressive. Well done @gracia_vr Thanks for letting me check out the TestFlight on Apple Vision Pro.

I recognize a lot of the AI fatigue described in this article, and I had to detox over the holidays. Great post!
AI was supposed to make us more productive. So why is everyone more exhausted?
Each task gets faster. So you do more tasks. Your brain doesn't scale like a GPU.
Wrote about it honestly.

This is wild. Arcturus Studios is capturing real sports in full volumetric so you can explore the action from any angle.
They surround the field with cameras and use Gaussian splatting to turn the game into a 3D experience. This is the future of sports.
Hugh with another great immersive tutorial.

How we normalized being interrupted by the apps we bought to do work. It's like your car pulling over to ask, "how are you enjoying your drive?" Ridiculous, until you realize that's exactly how many apps behave today.
I don't typically repost, but it's generated some good discussion, so here it is for a second time: blog.mikeswanson.com/backsea…

Live + immersive is like teleporting into an experience with seats that you probably couldn't get (or afford), as if you're actually there. We've wanted this level of immersion for a long time, and Apple has delivered.

Apple’s newest immersive video for Vision Pro, Flight Ready, gives you a pretty good idea of how Top Gun might have looked if it were shot in immersive – offering captivating glimpses into the daily lives of F-18 fighter pilots, captured in breathtaking 180° 3D.
It shows how intense and demanding it must be to land those jets on such a narrow flight deck, especially at night. It’s the first time I’ve seen so many dark scenes in an immersive video, which was a very interesting creative choice because it completely changed the tone halfway through.
Immersive video always makes everything feel more real, which makes the storytelling so much more powerful.
