Doing some sums before writing to MPs 28 agronomy clients 26 are "family farms" ie they provide a living for a family. 3 are tenants, the rest are owned by the family. On my rough calcs every single one of them would have an IH tax bill to pay under the new rules

Allow me to present 'The Solution'. Take your £100 million profit, divide by the 8 million tons of beet grown, pay it to the growers each year on top of the current price. It equates to around £34/ton and might just save the industry. Anything else is window dressing.

Yellow rust can be found easily in some varieties across the county. Whilst a variety may have a good Yellow rust adult plant resistance rating, many varieties are still susceptible to juvenile Yellow rust. Please ensure you remain vigilant on a field by field basis.
