I love seeing normal maps applied to 2D sprites!
This open-source tool generates normal maps for pixel art sprites It works with both single sprites and animated sprite sheets, turning flat pixel art into assets that can react to dynamic lighting in-game. You can run it: > locally from the CLI > directly in the browser with WASM That makes it pretty easy to drop into an existing pixel art pipeline without depending on a hosted service. Small tool, but genuinely useful if you want 2D sprites to have more depth without repainting everything by hand.

So is this the way to use AI Gen code? Put more effort, more heart, more soul, more story, more humanity into your creation even if AI wrote some of it?

My worries are not will someone copy my game or steal traffic with slop. Those were already possibilities before AI. My worries are all about questioning the artistic value of AI Gen code. It's becoming harder not to use AI, so can art still be created in the generation of AI?

I realized yesterday one of the key ways to stand out in the sea of AI slop (and not slop) coming our way in 2027 is story. I know that sounds really odd. But... when I think about my games, I don't really worry about AI copying them. Or any game being able to "steal" the traffic for the game. I just don't, and I think it's because the games are so story driven, and the story can really only be told by me. It's not that the stories are "genius", it's that they are just.... Thomas's stories. Nobody else can tell them.

This is the coolest way to show 2D portals!
This is basically a 2D Portal with physics for water and objects that pour through your portals - Place portals to reach the goal of a level - Levels are open so you find your own way - Over 50 puzzles plus a level editor - Online co-op Game is Link Loop.

Meld Diff does not require you to use the conflict list view. You can open any two files and just compare them side by side. If one or more sides are not associated with a file you can have a file created for you wherever you want in your @obsdmd vault.

Meld Diff also has a mobile view that shows the diffs vertically.

Meld Diff looks for conflict files in your vault created by apps like @syncthing shows you all the conflicts of that file and allows you to open them in a diff editor like Meld.

Last week I created a new @obsdmd plugin inspired by Meld using #grokbuild github.com/android272/meld-d…

I just learned recently in counseling that you should really examine media that makes you cry or feel strong emotions. There might be something there worth reflecting on.

One of the keys to maintaining a profitable piece of software / game in 2027 will be extreme loyalty to your base: if you treat them fairly, they will happily pay. If you don’t, they’ll clone you into oblivion

"I am thrilled that every line of code that I have ever written has been ingested into these models, such that when I use these models, there's a little stardust in them of me." ~@dhh

But first I need to get access to my accounts, files, and other things before I can see if this will even be worth exploring modifications.

Unless I can significantly make changes to make this an actual desktop environment. It's not a corner that needs to be filed down a little. It's a wardrobe that needs to be turned into a chair.
