And here we go again, SolidCraft looks "vaguely" like fusion 360 (my go to autodesk software for anything hardware design), but it's free and open source. With a 50mb download that doesn't even require the installer 😳

Distant forests always look a bit like "Thanks for rubbing your LOD into my eyes." A bit of contour smudging seems to resolve this problem and things look a bit more like you actually wanna go explore. (no AA present yet)

Experimenting with low-fi asset gen in Unbound Loop. Mostly focusing on semantic parts splitting done at generation time, because 3D gen segmentation sucks. Would anyone be interested in giving this a try? 🤔

Still using photocraft every day, goodbye photopea, photoshop, and every other phot-like app I tried over the years 🤷

Keep the creative loop going without getting stuck in model cleanup mode! 😠🧹 Unbound Loop's real-time AI augmented sculpting keeps you in the creative flow & @tripoai P2's clean mesh generation let's you export production ready 3D assets without wrestling polys or mapping UVs.

Looking beautiful and also snappy with plenty of primitives ✅
Been quiet because I tore out the renderer (Three.JS), and rebuild it in custom high perf SDF. Nook is clay all the way down now: landscape, objects, light. Early, but it finally feels like the thing I had in my head. #gamedev #indiedev #screenshotsaturday

My thinkpad x230 is reaching it's final form 🤩 Bought for 60 bucks, this thing now has an IPS screen that looks gorgeous, plenty of ram, an ssd with linux mint that boots fast and runs great. I love making experiments and games on this thing on the couch after work.

Frameworks become the important bit when you can simply prompt an engine on top
We at @Ahwoo_Official and @rocketwerkz have made the BRUTAL Framework, that Ludeon have used to make their engine, and us Kitten Space Agency, open source and free to use. Our industry is rotting from the core out. We plan to change it. reddit.com/r/gamedev/comment…

Fascinating thread from the unbound discord on the place for AI in creativity. I couldn't agree more. Are closed-source game engines a thing of the past? Coding agents are taking over so many products, yet I keep getting excited for all the ways we can boost things further🙃

Video from a lifetime ago (2019) debugging SDF primitives culling. Implicit shapes are great until you have tons of them, efficient culling during each evaluation step is crucial for perf. In retrospect, I'm glad I had to go through this stuff before AI, lots of learning!

Gonna have to try this with some friends, I need that traffic cone hat!
Hello everyone! If you appreciate having a laugh with your friends, I recommend testing the Pig King demo on steam. Best played with friends and rivals. Will be up until end of #SteamNextFest Let me know if you got the crown! 🐷

Been experimenting with exposing #threejs sculpting tools to MCP agents in Unbound Loop. Low poly models tend to come out surprisingly good and with the right semantic parts out of the box. Left side is the low poly result, right side is real-time AI augmented.

Experiment: Developing a game in an original art style, bottom up from rendering experiments all the way to a realistic count of game assets. This is my "programmer approach". - Any tool is on the table. - Consider Gen AI as fancy block-out. - Go horizontal first, then refine. TL;DR - Hire an artist, probably.

Bloodborne, but VR, and running on a PS4 emulator 🫠
Bloodborne was always meant for VR! Aim your gun. Set your blade on fire. Heal by blood vial injection. Throw Molotovs.. Every interaction feels native to VR. Full body, too. Running on a PS4 emulator. Playable start to finish.
