As an art/creative from the game industry, who can code but is more interesting in making products - AI is amazing. It allows me to build experiences, visuals and ideas much faster. Thereby explore a larger set of possibilities, and actually execute them.
When concept art started using photo-bashing, we had a similar uproar (at smaller scale). 'Is it art?' 'It's not a real concept', 'It's not your idea', 'We will loose the skills' etc etc. And now: everyone uses the method that allows them to express their ideas the best way. That being a sketch, a photo bash, a 3D model, or an AI generated thing.
There is always a risk of losing the human mistakes and quirks, which sometimes create accidental genius results. And human/artist limitations created visual styles in many ways. It is a real risk if everyone starts using the same tools.
But that is as much an attitude issue of not being open to new things and wild experimentation as it is a result of tool use or skill.
There is now a new tool. Go wild! Go break it! See where it falls short, see where it excels! Do cool stuff! Chase your vocation!

Developers who are getting value from AI should speak up. There's safety in numbers. MOST developers are doing it and loving it - and if they're not talking about it it's mostly out of fear for haters attacking them, their product, and their company.
Thank you for sharing! Nook grew up on three.js♥️
It got far, and helped me to know exactly what it needed.
It now has some custom work, but still a good amount of Three.js under the hood.
Three.js never fails to amaze me on what it's capable off in a browser these days!
Been quiet because I tore out the renderer (Three.JS), and rebuild it in custom high perf SDF.
Nook is clay all the way down now: landscape, objects, light. Early, but it finally feels like the thing I had in my head.

Opus 5.5 is a beast. I put Opus (high) and Astra (ultra) head to head making a new rendering pipeline and Opus blew Astra out of the water
Making games is all about player feedback. I've heard you. You want easier ways to change furniture, and adjust materials and colors. To really scratch that decoration itch.
I'll be opening up for more testers soon!

Spent the evening making a tiny clay kitchen in Nook, the browser game I'm building. Someone always leaves the lamp on though.
What would you want me to show next?
Opus 5.5 is a great model. But why does it need to take over my pc for every task? I really liked that Astra just used its internal terminal and managed to do a great job without blocking my pc.
Still, excellent model!
24h since my codex reset, and 50% of my weekly 20x plan tokens are gone already. Mostly using Astra at medium, normal usage. The model is good, but this is rough.
I've tried the new ChatGPT-6-Sol, it's nice. But for any visual or 3D work I instantly go back to Astra. It's just better. Sol never really quite gets it done.
Astra absolutely annihilates my tokens though.. Might try Opus 5.5 soon
Made decorating the ground easy.
Create a simple asset and the system will auto-match and scale to make it fit the intent of the user. Offset planks, pebbles, nice tile patterns - all possible in seconds.

After some real player feedback I've been working hard on the magic of decorating your little scene. Better UI/UX, better smart rescaling and placement of items.
Basic assets are still quite simple, but interaction is getting good!

So much of my timeline is people being terrified someone won elections that they don't agree with. As if it will now be the end of the region, city or country.
It's all just social pressure waves. If any side gets a lot of votes, you should consider why. Esp when you disagree
