Twitch’s new viewcount changes have hit me really hard. My whole channel is built around being that cozy background stream, the one you keep on while you work, study, or just need some company. That has always been my niche, my livelihood, and my connection to the people who make up my community. With these new rules, the very people my content is made for, quiet lurkers, background listeners, and folks watching from work, are no longer being counted at all. My numbers dropped overnight, not because my community disappeared, but because Twitch decided their kind of support does not count. It is heartbreaking watching years of work and stability vanish because of a system that does not understand what cozy streaming truly is. This is not just about vanity metrics. It is about income, opportunities, and the survival of creators who build gentle, welcoming spaces for people to feel at home.
