Plastic pollution doesn’t disappear when it becomes too small to see. Over time, plastic waste can break down into microplastics, spreading through water and soil. Once released, these tiny particles are incredibly difficult to recover. We need to act before plastic breaks down. – at Khlong Toei, Thailand

The plastic pollution crisis continues. ⚠️ Production accelerating, recycling systems failing & behaviours of people & huge corporations. ⚠️ We urgently need a radical new approach to turn off the plastic pollution tap. 😤✊ – at Truro, England

Guinea’s ban on several single-use plastic products, introduced on 20 September 2026, has not stopped plastic pollution in Conakry. Dumped bottles continue to litter streets partly due to poor waste collection and disposal services. VISIT OR SCAN: sustainabilitynewsafrica.com… #SNA

Rivers in India: tons of plastic dumped into the water every day. Meanwhile, in EU, they force you to have the plastic cap attached to the bottle and a paper straw that dissolves in your mouth.

Replying to @GeoPomonaZW
@GeoPomonaZW, this one is for you! This is a waste recycling centre in my neighbourhood. Residents bring their own waste, including tree branches, old furniture and general household rubbish. All you need is your driver’s licence to verify your address. If you live within the designated catchment area, disposal is free. Residents from outside the area pay a fee. The principle is simple: every suburb takes responsibility for managing its own waste. This is how you promote responsible waste management, maintain clean communities and discourage illegal dumping. Zimbabwe can learn a thing or two from this model. Clean cities don’t happen by accident. They require proper systems, accountability and community participation. Stop chasing money and troubling @DavidColtart and deliver service.

We are in an unusual position where travel to space is possible, but just barely. If we lived on a world with less gravity, it would be easy. More gravity, it would be impossible. Tsiolkovsky's rocket equation means that for every unit of speed, you don't just add 1 unit of propellant. Because that propellant has mass, you have to add extra propellant to push that propellant, and more propellant to push that propellant. Because of this exponential penalty, clearing Earth's gravity requires a rocket that is roughly 90% propellant by mass to leave the planet, i.e., a flying fuel tank.

🚨 THIS MACHINE COULD CHANGE THE OCEANS FOREVER. 🌊🤯 It is capable of removing up to 100 MILLION kg of plastic waste from the ocean. And this isn’t just a futuristic concept—by 2025, it had already collected around 500,000 kg of plastic. 🎯 The goal: remove 90% of ocean plastic by 2040.

Where are the climate activists now? This is what real pollution looks like. Rivers of plastic. Kids walking through trash every single day. No private jets flying in. No press conferences. No celebrity speeches. And here's the part they won't tell you: Tons of the West's own waste gets shipped to poorer countries and dumped there. So the same people lecturing you about your straw are exporting the problem out of sight. Real change would mean cleaning up places like this. Not guilt-tripping you at home while the cameras roll. Be honest: is the climate movement about the planet or about control? Say it below and share this with someone who needs to see it. Stay real in a world full of performance. A gravitational wave does not carry freely falling objects along with it. As the wave passes, it changes the distances between them, alternately stretching and squeezing their arrangement in directions perpendicular to its motion. The two polarization patterns show how this changing geometry behaves. What detectors such as LIGO measure is therefore extraordinarily small: not an ordinary displacement through space, but a fractional change in separation produced by a passing distortion of spacetime itself.
