I spent some "clanker" time on a port of @DHH's Campfire rewrite to Kotlin and the JVM. Surprise, attention to architecture actually matters. wecodefire.com/p/kotlin-keep…

My latest article is about how a rogue Wikipedia editor confabulated and misattributed thousands of inventions and concepts to Muslims
This trolling made its way into blogs, articles, books, and TV programs. You might even believe some of his lies!

Pope Leo XIV on AI: “We must avoid the misconception of equating this type of ‘intelligence’ with that of human beings. These systems merely imitate certain functions of human intelligence…They may imitate language, behavior and analytical skills, or even simulate empathy and understanding, but they do not understand what they produce” (Magnifica Humanitas 99)

Anecdote from yesterday: Here is a JIRA ticket, with a linked Confluence spec. Implement it.
1h and ~$25 later I finally had my product, needed to now babysit for another 30 mins to fix the gaps.
For that 1h I worked on a different project. But - I could’ve just told a Jr to do the same work. They’d been done in 1h30m too, probably without me needing to instruct on how to fix gaps.
So, it’s not even 10x faster vs a Jr in simple “monkey see monkey do” cases.

@satyanadella, stop trying to make [Copiloting everything on Windows] happen! It's not going to happen.

Property basted testing isn't just for functional programmers. Normal people can use it too. I hope this article shows you how practical it really is.

B2B SaaS is the hardest arena for the smartest people. Cope harder with your crud + react nonsense. I don’t see compiler engineers or game devs solving Riemann hypothesis as a marketing stunt side quest
