I just watched Dracula: Prince of Darkness (1966) and it’s just absurd how gorgeous some of these older classic horror films are

If you told me a few years ago that I’d be able to torrent entire HD episodes or movies in 2 minutes I would’ve called you insane. I remember a single torrent used to take me hours back in the day. Torrenting is one of the greatest inventions of man.

For my birthday, my fiancée booked a private screening of one of my favourite movies. She also gave me some incredible gifts like vinyls of a few of my favourite albums along with a vintage record player. As well as this very interesting book by an Italian Muslim scholar exploring the connection between western philosophy and Islamic thought.

The “Pakistan” section at bookstores is one of the saddest places on earth. What a disgustingly hijacked intellectual space we have. Full of grifters, propagandists, liars, and hypocrites.

One of my proudest moments ever as a dad would be walking into my little kids room when he’s in middle school and finding him listening to this

I recently finished reading The Remains of the Day. I thought it was great. The way Ishiguro uses the inner voice of the main character to add depth and complexity while layering in subjectivity is masterful at times. Though I feel he takes it a tad too far sometimes to the point that it becomes slightly claustrophobic and you can almost witness the author arranging the pieces. Which is why I wouldn’t rank it quite as highly as some do. Still excellent.

Here is a lecture by my Shaikh on Karbala, Imam Hussain, Yazid, and martyrdom. I have never heard anyone talk about the subject like this. Give it a listen. youtu.be/UGhhiOQFBA4?si=t70P…
