Such good news- finally! 🍯 A govt crackdown on dodgy suppliers of “honey syrup” - illegally labeled to fool consumers into thinking it’s something bees made - is underway. They’ve been getting away with this for far too long. And beware - this is what many cafés give you when you ask for honey.
South Africa's Department of Agriculture is finally taking action against misleading products that some sell as HONEY while they're just syrup.

Major Internet outage hitting services ranging from Gmail to Facebook to MSN. Hard to tell how widespread it is, as Down Detector is also down. 🥴

I’ve just received an email from a S. African woman who was caught by this. The fraudulent email came amid a stream of genuine booking.com emails about her UK booking. She lost >R18K. @bookingcom sent her a warning email but it landed AFTER the scammers’ ones. 😡
Soon as my next trip is done I'm deleting booking.com. I've been getting messages ON THE APP FROM THE HOTEL trying to get money out of me. The hotel on the same messages is telling me it's been hacked and don't click the link. The messages are every few hours. Go away

I was at Mugg & Bean at the Cape Town airport when my brother called. Weeping he told me my beloved son had died. My tears started rolling down my face and I burst out, "no no no my son has died!" Everyone froze, but not one young man who walked over to me. His eyes were filled with compassion that held me for long enough to gather my things. He offered to pay for my order as I fled sobbing out of the restaurant. He was black and I a middle-aged white man. This is the South Africa that I cherish.

holy shit they recorded tinnitus
This Post is from an account that no longer exists. Learn more
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Only some rare forms of tinnitus can be heard by a microphone, and this has been well known to medical science for over 30 years. It's called objective tinnitus, as opposed to subjective tinnitus, which is the more common form and is indeed idiopathic (only in the brain). medlink.com/articles/objec…. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/2273894/

“Thank you for holding, I’ve had a chat with my colleague and explained what’s been going on, he should be able to help you, okay? I’ll just transfer you now…” One of three things will now happen: 1. You’re transferred to someone who has no idea who you are or what you’ve just been talking about for the last twenty minutes. They say, “I’m not sure why you’ve been put through to me” 2. You’re put on hold and then eventually an automated voice tells you to “listen carefully to the following options…” 3. The line goes dead.

It’s been more than 6 years since the Tiger Brands listeriosis outbreak rocked the nation. And the victims are still nowhere near getting any compensation.
Apropos nothing at all, remember Tiger Brands who manufactured and distributed polony containing a deadly strain of bacteria for 14 months without ever noticing it, thereby killing 200 people, killing 200 unborn babies and crippling 100’s more.

Full marks to the staff at the @Victorinox UK flagship store in Oxford Street, London. Greeted this backpack-toting Saffa with the same courtesy as other designer wear-clad customers. Replaced the spring on my 30-year Swiss Champ's scissors quickly & efficiently. The bill... £0!
