I’ve observed the importance of NSFAS in assisting people who would otherwise have no options to build themselves up & get out of toxic communities & even move away from environments of crime. If we change everything else, it is the one thing that we must keep in some form.

University students from townships & the rural areas deal with more than a lot. I’ve had students who’ve been told by family to drop out. I often sit them down. I’ve had students whose families try to recruit them to crime. NSFAS makes it easier for them to ignore noise from home

Matlhomola Moshoeu was a 16 year old black boy killed after being accused of stealing sunflowers worth R80, about five U.S. dollars. Two white farmers, Pieter Doorewaard and Phillip Schutte, pushed him from a moving van, causing fatal neck injuries. He died on 20 April 2017.

BREAKING: A 59-year-old senior police officer holding the rank of Lieutenant General has been arrester on charges relating to sexual offences. The senior officer faces charges relating to the alleged sexual grooming of a 16-year-old girl between July and August 2026, as well as the alleged rape of an 18-year-old woman. The alleged rape is reported to have occurred at a hotel in Sandton in May 2026. @SABCNews
