Michael O'Leary, CEO of the low-cost airline Ryanair, came to the Irish pub. The guys did not lose their heads and added an additional fee to the receipt for a footrest, a quiet area and a priority landing.

BIAL is easily one of the best airports in the world and profitable. The management wants to spend A LOT of money making it bigger and becoming even better. Imagine the boost such a capex heavy construction activity will generate and the employment that will occur during and after the expansion. But a regulatory body says "you cannot spend that much". Some things happen that just defy logic. deccanherald.com/india/karna…

Traded in my 2023 Comet for a 2026 Comet, under MG buyback scheme I had opted for when I bought the car. The car is so much fun and convenient, decided to get the same car again. Top is old, bottom is new.

SoH and stats check for my 2 personal EVs over long term: Hyundai Kona (2019): This is now nearing 1L kms and about 7 years into ownership is at 88.4% SoH. Straight interpretation is 39.4kWh x 88.4% x 8.4km/kWh = 292km actual range vs 330km new. That's a drop of 38km over 7 years. Very very normal and expected. I'd like to believe that this normal reduction is due to my charging habits, but would love to see data otherwise just to validate. Kia EV6 (Oct 22): Odo is around 44k, into almost 4 years of ownership. SoH is at 100%. This car is running like a champ! I keep close track of charging cycles and sharing the summary as well. (For the Kona - Started keeping logs in 2020 after around 20k kms into ownership).

EV6 was fully topped off for a long trip today that got cancelled yesterday night. Didn't want the car sitting around at 100% so moved some electrons to my Comet, instead of charging overnight off my BESS/grid in the night. Overnight (~9 hours at 1.8kW) the cars went from: EV6- 100% to 78% Comet- 6% to 100% Basically my EV6 acted like a huge power bank. Everytime I use V2L like this, it feels like I've discovered a cheat code. – at Bengaluru South, India

SpaceX president @Gwynne_Shotwell reveals over half of all 22,000 employees bought an extra $1,000,000,000 of stock in their own IPO "We're about 22,000 strong. I'm super proud that over half of us actually bought additional stock in this opening, totalling a billion dollars" "The thank-you go to all of you for hanging in there, for keeping a straight spine as the doubters doubt, to achieve historic things every day"

Google Photos threw out a nice memory today from exactly 8 years ago, May 29th 2018. I was on a work trip at a small town in Sweden, almost in the middle of nowhere. Was waiting for my train back to Stockholm and I spotted an EV plugged into a lone, solitary AC charger, in a patch of mud. That got me asking questions: "Why can't we have this back home? Why don't we have cars like this? What's needed for an automaker to launch such cars in India? Why can't properties devote a fraction of their space and power for their patrons who have EVs?" At that point, I was already 5 years into owning and driving an EV, the OG Reva/Mahindra e2o, and had used the few public AC chargers set up by Reva/Mahindra at BLR airport and a couple of malls. The network they had, was far more than what Reva/e2o owners back then even needed/wanted. Less than a year from that initial set of questions, Hyundai India launched the Kona in June/July 2019, and by September that year, I took delivery of my car. That led to the next set of questions: "How far can I push the car? Should I compromise on driving time by trying to push the range? Why can't we have fast chargers along the way?" That year, I found like minded, and also equally crazy EV enthusiasts @karthic_KP and Nallasivam who helped with answers to these questions. Cut to 2026. @zeoncharging now has 350+ DC chargers, 200,000 like minded customers, 15,000+ kilometres of highways electrified, and growing profitably as well as exponentially. Never stop asking questions. The answers will almost always lead to wonderful opportunities.

Valentino Rossi and Max Verstappen are two megastars cut from the same Nomex. You give them even a 50cc moped and they'll go crazy trying to beat everyone else. Which is why I'll always be a superfan of these two guys.

At a time when policy should be accelerating the transition away from fossil fuels and advancing climate goals, the Karnataka Congress Government has chosen to levy lifetime taxes on electric vehicles - a regressive and counterproductive move. While states across India and governments globally are incentivising EV adoption through tax exemptions and subsidies, Karnataka is penalising it to plug the holes created by its own fiscal mismanagement. This is not policy - it is a desperate revenue grab. Instead of enabling a clean mobility transition, the burden is being passed on to citizens. Kannadigas are now paying the price for the Congress Government’s fiscal failure.
