The year is 2050, there’s a new Top Gun movie starring the AI recreation of Tom Cruise.
But cars can’t have stuck culture, they have to be ugly now because fuck you
All projects must have one leader, who has taken as much time as is required to figure out the ideal direction for it.
But managers only sit in meetings, no thinking time: the result is bells and whistles, full steam ahead into the abyss, as long as the paychecks keep coming in.
Nietzsche: "Basically all civilizations have the same deep fear of the 'great man' that the Chinese alone have admitted to themselves in their saying: 'The great man is a public misfortune.' Basically all institutions are organized so that he arises as infrequently and under circumstances that are as unfavorable as possible."
AI for building frontends mostly works because you have one standard (React) which is a stateless function (backend manages state).
As long as f(x) = y, you don’t have to give a damn about the implementation of f(x), or if the code is messy, it works and that’s good enough.
structures, the current level of AI could do *much* better with it and the developer could give it much more leeway.
A “stateless” backend is event sourcing + materialized views. The only system delivering on this vision is @redplanetlabs Rama and it deserves more attention.

Everyone tweaking about Windsurf should realize it wasn’t a defensible business model regardless. Still a very scummy move, but if the employees expected a big equity exit, they shouldn’t have and should have chosen a better company to work for instead
