hot take: as much as I loathe electoralism, all those white leftists telling you not to vote because “we won’t vote our way out of fascism” are part of the reason why the U.S. voted in fascism in the first place.

It seems @Metallica wants to keep Steve Cohen who is the majority stakeholder of The Sphere, happy. Steve also funds Friends of the IDF and runs a clinic for Veterans and family in Israel. Sad how low you will go for financial gain. Dont be Metallica be Macklemore #FreePalestine
Metallica frontman James Hetfield criticized entertainers who use concerts to promote political messages during the band's performance at the Sphere in Las Vegas on October 10.
Addressing the audience, Hetfield said Metallica was not there to influence fans with political agendas but to help them escape the outside world through “love, energy and heavy music.”
His remarks came weeks after rapper Macklemore was removed from Ed Sheeran's US tour following his onstage “Free Palestine” speech in support of Palestinians in Gaza and the occupied West Bank.
Although Hetfield did not name Macklemore or any other artist, his comments have drawn attention over musicians using their platforms to address political issues.

saying that a drawing of a nonbinary person makes you want to kill yourself is Exactly the same as a cis person saying that ALL trans bodies are repulsive. it's not "internalized transphobia" when you're pointing open contempt and disgust at other trans bodies.

The non-binary lowkey right tho, even if they pass as a cisgender woman and won't be sent into a camp how is infighting going to stop the transgender woman from being murdered?
Stop infighting and fight the real problems.

Metallica frontman James Hetfield took a swipe at artists who use their concerts to lecture audiences about politics during the band's Las Vegas residency.
In what could easily be seen as a dig at the likes of Macklemore, Hetfield told the crowd:
"Unless you live in Vegas, you've come a long way to spend some time with Metallica. We're grateful for that. Your travels, the money you spend, the time it took, thanks for coming to celebrate with us.
And I just gotta say, Metallica is not here, like some other entertainers, to influence you with their bullshit. We are here to forget about all the outside shit. Metallica's agenda is love, energy and heavy music, baby!"
Hetfield has rarely spoken openly about his politics, but past interviews suggest he holds many conservative values.
On Joe Rogan's podcast in 2016, he explained how he'd moved his family away from the San Francisco Bay Area, having grown tired of what he saw as its political intolerance and elitism.
As a Metallica fan, this is incredibly based! 🤘
when i was in high school somebody i was dating at the time transitioned (egg i helped crack ngl) and then came out to me as a lesbian. she then proceeded to tell me we could stay together bc “you still have all the right parts” and didn’t understand why that’s upsetting
