The mismatch between climate science and policy action is alarming. There have been ample examples of disasters to serve as a wake up call since Paris and yet the inaction continues.
An analysis of nearly 1,000 extreme weather events reveals that human-induced climate change increased the likelihood of 77% of them. A wake-up call for urgent climate action, adaptation & resilience @CoE_glaciology @iustjk @moefcc @IndiaDST @UNFCCC @CliC_WCRP @ndmaindia @ICCInet

The COP this year should take this into account as it enters its 31st year of negotiations.
An El Niño of record proportions has developed, with the Niño 3.4 region reaching the highest peak sea surface temperature anomaly on record. By this metric, this El Niño has now surpassed historically significant events in 1997 and 1982. wapo.st/4yM95Aj

The award was presented during the International Conference on ‘Women and Youth for Transforming Agribusiness Ecosystems’ held in Bhaktapur, Nepal, from 9 to 11 June 2026. The conference brings together policymakers, researchers, development practitioners, entrepreneurs, and farmer leaders to explore how women and youth can drive innovation, entrepreneurship, sustainability, and inclusive growth in agribusiness systems. Receiving the award, Dr Gyamtsho shared: “I dedicate this award to all the farmers across our region for giving me the privilege to serve them and contribute, in a small way, to their well-being. My sincere thanks to MOBILIZATION, India, and NFAC, Nepal, for this honour.” Congratulations to Dr Gyamtsho on this well-deserved recognition and for his continued commitment to building a more resilient and sustainable future for mountain communities.
