The Office of Public Prosecution in #Bahrain today extended the detention of Jamsheer Fairouz. He is now over 3 weeks in detention with no charges, only accusations raised during interrogations, which establish that he's being held b/c of political slogans heard during Ashura.
في إجراء تعسفي جددت النيابة العامة في #البحرين مرة أخرى توقيف اخي ونشطاء آخرين 15 يوم إضافي على ذمة التحقيق بعد توقيفهم قبل ثلاثة اسابيع بتهمة المشاركة في تنظيم الصلاة ليلة العاشر من المحرم!
تنبع الاحتجاجات المستمرة في سجن جو من السبب نفسه منذ سنوات: رفض #البحرين تحديد المستوى المطلوب من المعاملة الكريمة والرعاية الصحية الملائمة للسجناء والالتزام به.
وتنضم مبانٍ من السجن إلى هذا الإضراب منذ مارس/آذار. وقد ردّت إدارة السجن بقطع التكييف عن بعض المباني في أوقات مختلفة، من ضمنها وسط درجات حرارة قصوى تراوحت بين 44° و46° خلال الصيف الملهب في يوليو/تموز.
The ongoing protests at Jaw prison arise from the same cause as they have for years: #Bahrain’s refusal to set and maintain a basic level of dignified treatment and adequate health care for prisoners.
Buildings have been joining the strike since March. The prison administration has reacted by cutting off air conditioning in some buildings at different times, including during the summer heat of July, when peak daily temperatures were in the 44-46 C° range (= 111-114 F°).
Jamsheer Fairouz enters his second week of detention, still with no charges and no documents whatsoever available to his lawyer or family, on order of the Office of Public Prosecution in #Bahrain.

يُحتجز جمشير فيروز للأسبوع الثاني على التوالي، في غياب أي تهم ووثائق متاحة لمحاميه أو أسرته، بناءً على أمر من النيابة العامة في #البحرين.
اعتقلت #البحرين جمشير فيروز، أخ عضو مجلس النواب السابق المنفي، المعارض والناشط الحقوقي جواد فيروز، بسبب تهم بأنه شجع على هتافات سياسية سُمعت في لقاءات دينية شيعية خلال الشهر الجاري.
بعد استدعاءه يوم امس وعرضه على النيابة العامة في #البحرين اليوم توقيف أخي ابو احمد جمشير فيروز اسبوع على ذمة التحقيق بتهمة المشاركة في تنظيم الصلاة ليلة العاشر من المحرم في العاصمة المنامة!!!

توجه صباح اليوم عدد من عوائل سجناء الرآي لسجن جو المركز لتقديم عدد من الطلبات بخصوص ما تردد عن سوء اوضاع السجناء من ناحية تعمد إدارة السجن من قطع التيار الكهربائي عن عدد من المباني التي تشهد احتجاجات منذ مارس الماضي( 10-9-8-7-5) .
مفوضية السجناء و المؤسسة الوطنية لحقوق الانسان ملزمة بزيارة المباني و الاطلاع و الرد على ادعاء السجناء من عدم وجود تيار كهربائي.
شهد اليوم احتجاجًا آخر في سلسلة الاحتجاجات المبدعة والمؤثرة والسلمية تمامًا التي تحصل في #البحرين. المطالب عادلة والوسائل المستخدمة لرفعها هي أيضًا عادلة. ينبغي للحكومة سماعها.

Great News! Yesterday @MARYAMALKHAWAJA announced that she was in remission from cancer!
Even while courageously battling for her own health, she continued her fight for her father, Abdulhadi Al-Khawaja’s freedom.
For the past 13 years, Maryam has been tirelessly calling for her father's release ever since Abdulhadi Al-Khawaja was arbitrarily imprisoned in 2011 in #Bahrain. He is a #PrisonerOfConscience, serving a life sentence for his peaceful human rights activities.
As we send our best wishes to Maryam, let's unite in demanding Abdulhadi Al-Khawaja’s immediate and unconditional release. #FreeAlKhawaja
