Once did some things for BBC R&D - but stopped now. Tended to be work related but also football and music. Very much personal/own view. may swear.

"The BBC is to cut a quarter of its research and development (R&D) division - equating to 67 roles - as part of a new voluntary redundancy scheme."
"The first round of cuts will see the 260 staff who currently work in the R&D division reduced to 193."

Redundancies can have a major impact on workers mental health (and not just those directly losing their jobs).

This fully funded studentship has a generous stipend and research and training funds.
The fees are normally covered at the UK rate, but we can waive the difference for European/International candidates in exceptional cases.

I have an excellent opportunity for a fully funded PhD studentship in Responsible AI Literacy for Journalism.
As part of the research, the student will work with the BBC @BBCRD.

So ... the New Dawn Fades..
Today is my last day as an employee of the BBC and @bbcrd.
It’s been an absolute blast and a privilege to be part of this place but time to move on - a new challenge awaits after some weeks of digital detox.

I was recommissioned years later to look at the future of #iot for the BBC and during the pandemic to support their Human Values work. I even called Adrian once in a while for career advice. A wonderful contributor to @BBCRD history.

We need your help! I'm helping legendary @NFFC @Arsenal @EnglandFootball striker, Tony Woodcock, find his biological father after he found out from a DNA test that his father wasn't who he thought it was.
We have snippets of information about who his biological father was.
We know his father was #Polish. We think his name was Peter - we don't know his surname. He was apparently the head dyer at Giltbrook Dyers & Cleaners in #Nottingham (no records remain) in the 1950s. We're hoping that someone may see this and it jogs their memory. If you have any information, do get in touch. Please RT to spread far and wide! 😊

So it is a World in Motion….
At the end of last week, I let my team and colleagues in Research & Development know that, after 23 years, I will be leaving the BBC at the end of March 2024.
This is very much a personal choice where I have concluded that after a wonderful (and possibly over long) period at the BBC, my “work is done.”
