Extend!
NEW
Business minister Kate Dearden tells MPs that while pub licensing hours have been extended for the World Cup until 1 am “unfortunately that does not apply” to the England-Mexico game which starts at 1am, under questioning from MPs concerned that hospitality industry will miss out on much-needed windfall without a blanket extension to opening hours.
V proud of @MKConservatives for a relentless local campaign. Three gains and solid majorities.
Credit to @Shazna_Muzammil & Cllr Peter Geary for driving the party forward - the recovery continues.
Reform will be bitterly disappointed, they expected to be the largest group 👀

Tourism powers so much of the UK - but too often, the voices of rural and coastal businesses go unheard.
That’s why I recently sat down with @PascUK, the South West Tourism Alliance and local operators on the front line.
Genuinely humbled to be awarded an MBE in the King’s Birthday Honours.
Thanks to @Conservatives for the opportunities, and to all those I’ve worked with 💙

Romania’s Georgescu saga should be a wakeup call for conservatives and other allies like @elonmusk to better scrutinise the politicians they support, argue @acwalker28 and Andrei Jujan in a new op-ed. bit.ly/3GDP8pE
As Romania heads to the polls this Sunday, I took a closer look at Călin Georgescu’s rise — and why he’s not the conservative hero some think he is.
With @AndreiJujan, for @Parlimag:
“Georgescu is no conservative saviour”

An act of self-sabotage by @mkcouncil. Northants Councils indicated their willingness to join a bid for a Combined Authority. Instead, MK Council, Beds & Luton will create one of the smallest CAs in the country = less powers & less funding for the region.

After election defeat the National Convention elections are a vital rebuilding opportunity for the Conservative party. I believe my skills/ experience make me the right choice to represent our voluntary party on the board as Vice President. More details: Johnbelsey.co.uk
Congratulations to @UKLabour for their success in MK and across the country. Their change message was positive, clear and delivered with ruthless discipline.
Very sad to see many close friends and colleagues not in the HoC. But, the rebuilding begins and we go again.
A particular mention for @Ben_Everitt, @Johnny__Luk, @iainastewart and @davidgoss all great candidates, who will play major roles in the future of the party.
As Chair of @MKConservatives, thank you to everyone who helped in our campaign. We stayed united and created some special memories. Our agent @peterjgeary was nothing short of phenomenal. @liamandrewsmk is a genius and @ellievarley13 is an incredible communicator.
