“Many of us women depend on land to feed our families, but having access to land does not always mean we have the right to make decisions about it. Some women cultivate land for years, yet when disputes arise or their marriages end, they risk losing the very land they depend on.
We want a situation where women can speak up, be listened to and have their rights respected in their homes and communities. Our voices matter because we are the ones experiencing these challenges every day.”
Ms. Betty Nesihwe, a grassroots woman from Butaleja district sharing her lived experience during the 4th Women’s Land Rights Conference.

We were part of a three-day quarterly @CEDOVIPuganda training alongside our Domestic Violence Act Coalition (DVAC) partners.
The training strengthened our skills in advocacy, stakeholder engagement and coalition building, while reminding us of the power of collective and intersectional advocacy.
We were re-energized and left more committed to ending violence against women.

As we mark International Youth Day, with support from 🇩🇰🇸🇪🇳🇱🇮🇪, we joined a community dialogue in Arua City, bringing together community members, leaders and stakeholders to discuss issues affecting young people, refugees, children and the host community.
The dialogue created space for conversations on youth empowerment, human rights, peaceful coexistence and access to justice, with FIDA-Uganda equipping participants with knowledge on their rights, legal redress mechanisms and where to seek support when rights are violated. We emphasised the importance of young people, women, refugees and other vulnerable groups being able to speak up, seek timely assistance and actively participate in decisions that affect their lives and communities.
