The worst one yet… this is the disabled toilet in @koynlondon last night. When I asked them about it, they said, “It’s not the disabled toilet; it’s a storage cupboard”. I then asked them to show me where the disabled toilet was. They responded, “Uhhh, well, we can clear it out.” Disgusting attitude. It is high time that councils go around and inspect restaurant-disabled toilets and give on-the-spot fines for misuse!!! – at London, England

"This accessibility overlay's website says that to avoid being sued I just have to hand over a wad of cash and include one line of HTML, and my site will auto-comply with all legislation! Is this true? Should I use it?" @heydonworks has your answer here youtu.be/uNM8FR3yzWg?si=ZL18…

There will be women tonight dreading their partner coming home. Football does not cause domestic abuse, but it can become more frequent or severe after big games, with reporting increasing by 38% when England lose. Go to womensaid.org.uk. In an emergency, always call 999.

I’m exhausted. Lifts being put meant a trek across london. Getting soaking wet and covered in gunk. Spending 2 hrs drying all my stuff and not working. #disabilitytax

#GAAD is a day for talking loudly and raising awareness around accessibility. As it happens, recent legislative changes in the US & EU have also contributed to raising awareness, now that many services and organizations are required by law to meet accessibility standards. 🧵

I tell my students to avoid using select boxes. It’s often better to go for radios. Their response: “but it makes the list long” Yep, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s bad UX. Here’s one question I designed doing just that. No issues in user research whatsoever.

Whoever decided on this font for the target audience are [insert swear words here]! Estimates suggest that from 30% to 50% of autistic individuals also have dyslexia. This font is just completely inappropriate 🤦
If I was tasked with designing the world's least accessible font, it would probably look a lot like this

The GOV.UK accessibility statement has been updated. It doesn't apply to the services subdomains but does apply to the half million or so information pages and documents. gov.uk/help/accessibility-st… #a11y #AccessibilityRegulations
