We are delighted to welcome Mr. Sola Isiaka Gold, who has formally assumed office as Acting Executive Director of the Abubakar Bukola Saraki Foundation. Mr. Gold joins us after a distinguished career in public service. A retired Permanent Secretary in the Kwara State Civil Service, he headed several ministries and agencies, including the State’s Liaison Office in Abuja, before serving as Secretary to the State Government from 2011 to 2019. Years at the centre of government have given him a clear sense of what it takes to turn good plans into services that reach people where they live. He will now coordinate our projects and programmes across the country, building on the work the Foundation has done since 2019 in healthcare, education, livelihoods and humanitarian relief. Please join us in welcoming Mr. Gold. We wish him every success in this new role. #ABSFoundation

Nigeria has one of the highest numbers of child brides in the world, and for too many of our girls, marriage comes before they have had the chance to finish school. This year's International Day of the Girl Child calls on all of us to end child marriage and invest in girls' rights, and we believe that investment begins in the classroom. A girl who stays in school is more likely to marry later and to see her own children through school. That is why education sits at the heart of our work at the #ABSFoundation, and why we have spent years helping young people stay in school. To parents, teachers, and community and religious leaders: help us keep her in school, and keep her safe there. Marriage can wait. Her education cannot. Happy International Day of the Girl Child. #DayOfTheGirl #EndChildMarriage #InvestInGirls #GirlChildEducation

You probably don’t remember learning to read. But someone else does. A teacher remembers you sounding out your first words, perhaps among forty other children in the same classroom. They remember the moment letters began to make sense to you. They have helped thousands of children reach that moment. Many of those children never think to say thank you. Today, Nigeria’s public primary schools are short of nearly 200,000 teachers. Some states went as long as five years without recruiting a single new teacher. Those still in the classroom are teaching far more children than any one person should. At the Abubakar Bukola Saraki Foundation, we know that every effort to improve education depends on the teachers in those classrooms. So today, we want to say what too many former pupils never got around to saying: Thank you. Happy World Teachers’ Day.

A gate has one job. It opens. At 66, a good question to ask about Nigeria is how many of her young people can actually get through. For many, the only thing in the way is something small, like a school fee or the tools to start a trade. Since 2019, the ABS Foundation has been helping young Nigerians clear those hurdles. Nigeria has never lacked talent. Our young people just need more gates to open. This Independence Day, open one for someone. It could be as simple as paying a fee or teaching a skill you already have. Happy 66th Independence Anniversary, Nigeria. We celebrate with every Nigerian at home and in the diaspora. #ABSFoundation #IndependenceDay

Sports is Social and Economic Value⚽💰 Africa's sports economy is valued at around $12 billion, and projected to nearly double to $20 billion by 2035. Yet the continent still captures less than 3% of global sports revenue. At ABS Foundation, we believe that this is an opportunity waiting to be unlocked. Building partnerships for greater impact. 🌍 The Abubakar Bukola Saraki Foundation participated in the African Social Impact Summit (ASIS) 2026 joining development leaders, impact investors, philanthropic organisations, and social innovators from across the continent. The Summit was a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas, learn from leading practitioners, and explore strategic partnerships that will strengthen our work across healthcare, education, entrepreneurship, and community development. We look forward to translating these connections into meaningful outcomes for the communities we serve. #ABSFoundation #ASIS2026 #SocialImpact #Partnerships 📸@onefoundationng @TheASISummit
