Great leaders make those around them better. Not because of how smart, strong or skilled they are, but because of how smart, strong, and skilled they act like others are. Great leadership is not about your greatness, it’s about treating people as if they are extremely valuable.

The best leaders weren’t pursing power, money, or fame; they were pursuing justice, passion, purpose, and empowerment. WHY you’re doing it is most important. The rest is just a bonus.

You can be humble and confident. You can be kind and competitive. You can be selfless and ambitious. You don’t have to compromise your character to be a great basketball player and a great teammate. It’s rare to be both because it takes a lot more effort but it always pays off.

If you don’t succeed, don’t let it be because you weren’t prepared.

What you do in empty gyms can fill arenas. They’re empty now, but they won’t always be. Keep working.
