Really is a shame and it doesn’t get talked about enough just how unlucky and unfortunate the 2020’s went for him, despite having one of the greatest peaks of all-time.
Murray’s ACL took them out of contention for 2 years after a WCF appearance. Then you win a title when he comes back, and no one wants to count bc Boston played with their food. And then they couldn’t stay healthy with cheap owners and a foolish GM.
Now at 31, not physically where he was 3 years ago, and the team is substantially worse so defensive schemes can truly wear him out.
When you see 3 MVP’s, 1 Championship and Finals MVP, it’s an incredible feat, but when you really think about it, he should’ve had much more than that, but so many elements out of his control cost him.
The thought of him being a what-if type player with the peak that he had, averaging triple-doubles and not fully maximizing that is insane and a massive shame on the Nuggets front office.

You have a child’s sense of aesthetics. The heterogeneity on the left is what makes it interesting and gives it character. If every city in Japan looked like that oft-photographed stretch in Narai, it wouldn’t be interesting at all.

Frankly, this is how moving the Overton window is supposed to work and why it's imperative for the left to pressure left electeds, despite what DSA rightists/Progs say. If Mamdani becomes "the consensus center" then you've just moved the Dem party leftward. That's the point.

The math was wrong (gokus universe busting was him deflecting beerus' attacks, not his own strength) and Saitama didnt just delete stars, but entire galaxies.
Also the meme graph everyone posts was him fighting Garou , itd be different vs Goku (also saitama doesnt start at 0)

Lo derrotaron con una forma que no existe canónicamente y que debió haber matado a Goku al instante pero aun así con todo y los nerfeos que te metieron para mí ganaste mi calvo goat.

Using the graph as a statistic to quantify Saitama’s growth is a huge stretch imo
Murata drew it to illustrate his limitless growth, not mathematically show how his strength increases. His growth depends on his opponent, and you can’t put a number on someone without limits

The fact that they're even willing to create this fight implies that Saitama could lose, and that alone is ridiculous.
Moreover, the series is called One Punch Man because that's what Saitama does. Goku has taken damage from people far below his level, so why should we believe he would survive a punch from a guy who terraformed the moon just by jumping back to Earth?
The canonicity of Dragon Ball itself is all the evidence you need to know how this fight would normally go down, as it presents Goku as being fallible, which is the exact opposite of Saitama.
Here's a first look at Goku VS Saitama! Whatcha think? 😎 The full episode airs this Sunday 10/18 on YouTube. Animated by @moro_production and featuring @kovox as Goku and Ryan Abedi as Saitama. #deathbattle #GokuVSSaitama #anime

one of the annoying things about menswear is the contrarian tendency to dislike something just bc it's popular. you are not cool bc you know of a slightly more niche place to buy a sweatshirt. get a grip.

the ONLY time actual children are on screen in this movie is when chris wakes his own very young sons up in the middle of the night to watch him read sexually explicit material aloud on TV in order to serve his own ego. movie that Understands.

PRIMETIME (2026)
all of the "whale hunt" metaphors were so apt because, much like the characters of moby dick, none of these people had any understanding of what it was they were actually attempting to "hunt"

If you’re a Mamdani booster, there’s nothing to be mad about here; if anything this helps cement his broad appeal as normal/relatable, vs “crazy” leftists.
If you’re a leftist antizionist, though, this is frustrating and disappointing. Not because they’re being unfair to Zohran or whatever—but because there’s still so many on the left who clearly have no theory of power or change beyond “petition those who have power.”
The archetype of The Radical that they hold in their minds—and which they seek to emulate—is the permanent outsider, the externalized (shaming, haranguing) conscience of those who can actually make decisions. Never the decision makers! Never the ones with power, but solely the beggar to power. Except the begging is disguised through performative hostility as if it were something else, a demand with real force behind it. But of course, there is no force, no leverage. It’s all kabuki—but the audience for the performance is, more than anyone, the performers themselves.
If you think Zohran is a genocidaire, I think that’s nonsense, but honestly that doesn’t bother me *nearly* as much as that *this* kind of empty gesture is your response to something as profoundly horrifying as genocide. Can’t you build something better, bigger, stronger? At the minimum, you could primary him from the left in 2029!
But if not, please come up with *something* other than these kinds of powerless acts of prostration, of begging, masquerading as demands. You can’t demand anything without power—if not electoral power, then find something else. But without power, it’s not a demand, but a plea. A whimper.

This reveal is why I can never turn on this movie. Genuinely mean-spirited and sickening in a way these movies are rarely ever allowed to be. Felt like a scene from Bendis' Ultimate Spider-Man where its a world where uncaring adults subject children to inhumane torture for profit

The central moral dilemma of Primetime is not whether predators deserve sympathy or even if the premise of the show is exploitative/wrong, it's questioning the satisfaction a society indulges in while punishing horrors it itself produces

Alignment lead at Anthropic, btw:

Jacob is correct here—we really do earnestly believe AI could kill all humans! I personally think it is >10% within the next decade. I believe Anthropic is trying its best, but we do not yet have a plan to solve alignment for superintelligence and are not clearly on track to.

The people building AI earnestly believe that it could kill us all by the end of the decade. This is not a marketing stunt. If anything, many executives and senior researchers will couch their phrasing in the press to sound sensible - but I hear the same people express fear privately. No other human activity poses this level of danger.
