There is every reason for Lakunle to be at the top of your mind when you cast your vote. He is a candidate whose dedication, competence, and commitment to service speak for themselves. This vibrant man we are talking about in this great institution, has maintained a record of integrity and responsible leadership. Anyone who has interacted with him can attest to his passion, courage, and readiness to serve. At a time when students have consistently demanded bold, fearless, and accountable leadership, we cannot afford to settle for less. We deserve a Secretary-General who will represent our voices with confidence, stand firm for students’ interests, and lead with purpose. This election is an opportunity to choose courage over complacency, service over promises, and leadership over timidity. We deserve better. We deserve courage. We deserve LAKUNLE. 🗳️ VOTE LAKUNLE FOR SECRETARY-GENERAL, GREAT IFE STUDENTS’ UNION.🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Funny how it's the smart ones that sleep in exam hall, when some others are mass-producing body water. Lol.
At Sam Mbakwe airport Owerri, a billboard has been put up for our star boy, Egejurum Onyedikachi, to celebrate him as he arrived in Owerri today. He is 11 years old and the world’s best in the Primary category for Mathematics. He is so good that he finished the exam and fell asleep. What a star!

When are we going to move beyond conversations and start demanding the full implementation of the Nigerian Disability Act? Basic accessibility is still missing. Many public buildings remain inaccessible (including banks, hospitals, government secretariat). Disability-friendly toilets are rare. Safe walkways and ramps are often nonexistent. Not to talk of transport 🙃 These aren’t luxuries fgs!! disability can happen to anyone. It only takes one accident, illness, or unexpected event for someone’s life to change forever. I started @dai_initiative 5 years ago to play my part. At DAI, we’re working to build a more inclusive future by teaching children and teenagers about disability, inclusion, and breaking down stigma from an early age. We can’t do it alone. If you work in a primary or secondary school, volunteer with young people, or simply care about improving the quality of life for persons with disabilities in Nigeria, we’d love to have you join us. If you’d like to sponsor a visit to a school, please send a DM 🙏

MATCH PREVIEW: Rangers Int’l FC vs Shooting Stars SC Matchday 12 of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL26) sees Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) head to Enugu for a showdown against Rangers International. The fixture is set for Sunday, November 9, with kickoff scheduled for 4:00 PM at the iconic Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium, also known as The Cathedral. This encounter brings together two of the league’s most storied clubs in what promises to be a contest filled with intensity, quality, and history. Recent Form & Motivation: The Oluyole Warriors are aiming to bounce back after a 1–1 home draw against Katsina United on Matchday 11. Despite dominating possession and carving out multiple chances, the team couldn’t find a winner. Coach Nurudeen Aweroro and his side will look to turn their attacking intent into maximum points on the road. Rangers currently 13th on the table, also come off the back of a draw, having battled to a stalemate against El-Kanemi Warriors. Under Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu, the Flying Antelopes have built a solid reputation at home, with quick transitions and a structured approach that makes them tough to beat at The Cathedral. Team News: Shooting Stars will monitor a few fitness concerns ahead of the trip: •Samuel Okon remains doubtful after his knock against Wikki Tourists. •Promise Awosanmi and Ayodele Ismail are also nursing injuries and may face late fitness tests. •Joshua Akpan is nearing full recovery but might not be match-fit yet. •Alex Aghahowa has returned to full team training. •On the bright side, Desmond Ojietefian is back in contention and could make the matchday squad. Despite these knocks, the squad remains balanced and dangerous going forward. Ekeocha Chukwudi, who netted his first goal for the club last time out, will aim to build on that momentum. The duo of Qamar Adegoke and Sodiq Ibrahim add pace and movement in the final third, while midfielders Tunde Azeez and Tijani Kabir are expected to anchor the team’s rhythm and transitions. The Opponent: Rangers will rely on striker Godwin Obaje to lead the line, with fullback Kalu Ogbonda offering both defensive cover and attacking width. Chidiebere Wisdom brings energy and balance in midfield, ensuring a smooth link between defense and attack. The Flying Antelopes will likely adopt a fluid attacking approach, especially on home turf, while being mindful of 3SC’s threat on the break. Tactical Outlook: Shooting Stars: Expect a disciplined, compact setup focused on frustrating Rangers and hitting on the counter. Quick transitions, wide movement, and well-timed set pieces could prove decisive. Midfielders will play a crucial role in linking up both ends of the pitch. Rangers FC: Likely to dominate possession, using overlapping fullbacks and sharp midfield control to stretch 3SC’s defensive line. They’ll try to control the game tempo and apply sustained pressure while pressing high to limit 3SC’s counter opportunities. Current Form Snapshot: •3SC: Unbeaten at home so far but looking to rediscover their edge away. The last two matches (a loss and a draw) have shown promise but also exposed the need for more decisive finishing. •Rangers: 13th on the table, difficult to beat at home and consistently organized under Ilechukwu’s leadership. A win on the road would be a huge confidence boost for Shooting Stars as the team look to regain momentum in the NPFL. After a loss and a draw in their last two matches, the Oluyole Warriors will be eager to return to winning ways. Match Info •Fixture: Enugu Rangers vs Shooting Stars SC •Venue: Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium, Enugu •Date: Sunday, 9th November 2025 •Time: 4:00 PM

As physiotherapists, we often manage sciatica, but sometimes, the cause isn't a common disc or muscle issue. Do you know that endometriosis can be the root of this debilitating nerve pain? Endometriosis occurs when tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus. When this tissue, known as endometrial implants or lesions, develops in the pelvis near the sciatic nerve (a condition called sciatic endometriosis), it can cause significant nerve irritation and pain. The endometrial tissue can grow directly onto or around the sciatic nerve, physically compressing or invading the nerve. These lesions respond to hormonal changes, bleeding and swelling before and during menstruation, causing a cyclical increase in inflammation and pressure on the nerve. Chronic inflammation leads to the formation of scar tissue, which can tether or compress the sciatic nerve. So, Nkechi or Busola reports leg pain that significantly intensifies for about 3-4 days every month, specifically starting 2 days before her menstrual period begins. She also reports a history of severe, debilitating menstrual cramps (dysmenorrhea) since she was a teenager. This cyclical pattern and history of severe period pain are the red flags that pivot the assessment from a purely mechanical issue to a strong suspicion of Endometriosis-Related sciatica. Diagnosing sciatica secondary to endometriosis requires strong clinical reasoning and assessment skills from a physiotherapist. We must recognize the potential for an underlying systemic issue because the symptoms are often atypical and easily misdiagnosed. During the subjective and objective assessment, look out for: 1. Pain Pattern: Sciatic-like pain (burning, electric, shooting, deep ache) that cyclically worsens in the days before and during menstruation. 2. Pelvic symptoms with concurrent history of other endometriosis symptoms: severe menstrual cramps, painful intercourse, painful bowel movements, or chronic pelvic pain. 3. Treatment Response: Sciatic symptoms that are unresponsive to traditional mechanical sciatica treatments like specific lumbar exercises or general stretches. If you suspect endometriosis-related sciatica, collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team is essential for a definitive diagnosis and comprehensive management.
Endometriosis. Many people think it’s just period pain but it’s more than that. But the pain is not in your head, and the fatigue is not you being lazy. I want to talk more about this. What are the questions you've always wanted to ask? Is there anything you're confused about? Fill this form and tell us: forms.gle/aVWLS4VDwjEpGBMr8
